Uriel vs Kralus.gif

Introduction

Knowing how to use the skills of the cards when building your team requires a lot of learning, but we can't forget the basics of evaluating the status of each one. I recently won a battle with a lot of cost due to a flaw in my strategy, so I thought it would be interesting to bring it up for discussion to highlight the mistakes made and what could have been done to ensure a easy victory.

The strategy before the battle

The battle had 32 MP available for use and only Water and Life Splinters. In my opponent's history there were no battles with these splinters, but I noticed that their focus was on the classic strategy of eliminating the tank and then attacking the backline. In this way, I sought to strengthen my front line by placing Uriel The Purifier which, after fixing the bug that made it only heal when it had its Recharge ability activated, became excellent for occupying the tank slot, unlike what was commented on in Greengineer (2022-a).

I sought to ensure the survival of my tank by placing 02 monsters with the Heal Tank skill (Divine Healer and Venari Crystalsmith), 01 monster with Cleanse (Herbalist) and 01 monster with Repair and Ressurect (Adelade Brightwing). With the remaining 02 MP I put the Halfling Alchemist with his Halving ability to reduce part of the damage received by Uriel.

Once assembled the team was to hope that my opponent didn't abuse the Snipe, Opportunity or Sneak skills, which could eliminate the supports before my tank.

The battle

My opponent used Summoner The Peakrider, which reduces ranged attack by 1 and provides 03 plus Shield to his allies. As a tank, he selected Kralus, with his Immunity, Flying and Heal skills, in second position he put the Gargoya Scrapper, in the third position he used the Armorsmith with his Repair skill, in the fourth position he used the Doctor Blight with Poison and Affliction and in the last position he used the Shieldbearer with your Taunt skill.

He was looking to eliminate my tank while my backline were wasting time on the Shieldbearer. Doctor Blight was a key part of his strategy, preventing the healing of my tank, but he was countered with my Herbalist's Cleanse. My Halfling Alchemist was also rendered useless by Kralus's Immunity ability. I soon realized that the battle would be long and could result in a draw or defeat if the twentieth round passed.

So much so that at the end of the first round no monsters had fallen.

2 Round Evade.png

At the end of the fourth round the enemy Shieldbearer went down, but both tanks remained standing.

5 Round Evade.png

Until the eleventh round my monsters missed several attacks due to the movement speed difference and Kralus' Flying ability. My tank received some scratches but soon healed.

12 Round Evade.png

During the twelfth round my allies managed to remove Kralus' Shield so that my Uriel's merciless attack hit him, knocking him out of the game.

13 Round Evade.png

In the fourteenth round, it was Gargoya Scrapper's turn to leave the match, but not without giving some work with his Void ability and Armorsmith's Repair.

15 Round Evade.png

In the fifteenth round the monster that delayed Kralus' elimination, Armorsmith, was eliminated.

16 Round Evade.png

In the sixteenth round Doctor Blight was defeated, securing my victory.

17 Round Evade.png

Evaluating the match there were errors on both sides. Firstly, none of the teams used characters with the Snipe, Sneak, Opportunity or Scattershot abilities, making both teams depend on the elimination of tanks to access the enemy backline. My Halfling Alchemist for example could have been replaced by Celestial Harpy. In the case of my opponent, he set up a strategy that was even superior to mine, because it took me four rounds to start attacking his tank with all my monsters, but he depended on the Affliction ability to eliminate my tank.

Another point is that the Resurrect ability was an unnecessary luxury and my Adelade Brightwing could have been replaced by the Silvershield Assassin in a way that would speed up the elimination of my opponent. But it's easy to criticize the past, the lesson is not to abuse monsters with low movement speed in games that don't have the Reverse Speed rule.

Hope you enjoyed this strategy with the indestructible tank. To see the match in detail you can go to this link: Greengineer (2022-b).

--------PT/BR--------

A batalha

2 Round Evade.png
