Introduction

As commented on Greengineer (2022-a), the Amplify ability became more popular at the launch of the Chaos Legion set, starting to appear in many battle compositions. Also in the mentioned post, a battle was presented with the combination of the Amplify and Thorns skill.

In this post I will present a battle that ended very quickly due to the combination of Magic Reflect/Return Fire and Amplify skills.

The strategy before the battle

The match in question had 48 MP available, all monsters had the Blast ability and Reverse Speed was active. Only the Life Splinter was unavailable, so there were a variety of strategies to take.

Analyzing my opponent's history, I identified that he abused magic and ranged monsters, so I looked for a strategy similar to the one I adopt against Yodin Zaku users (Greengineer, 2022-b) using the Summoner Lir Deepswimmer which provides the Return Fire ability to all allies. I placed Wave Brood in last position, drawing in all enemy attacks with its Taunt ability, and it benefited from the Reverse Speed game rule due your low speed. As Blast was active, in fifth position I put Primatic Energy, which has the Magic Reflect ability. As a tank I chose Torhilo The Frozen, which would also benefit from Reverse Speed and would hold enemy magic damage when Wave Brood dropped. In fourth position I put Deeplurker with its Opportunity ability, because if it hit monsters in the middle positions it could cause a lot of damage with Blast active. In the second position I put the Frozen Soldier that would protect my team from the Blast from the enemy tank's attacks. And to boost the damage reflection I put River Nymph in second position:

River Nymph Lvl 4

  • Cleanse: Since level 01 comes this skill that removes all bad stats from the allied tank.

  • Amplify: Starting at level 04, River Nymph acquires this ability, which adds 01 to the damage dealt by Thorns, Return Fire and Magic Reflect.

Once the team was assembled, I expected my enemy to continue along the same lines of his battle log, and this is what happened:

The battle

My opponent came with Summoner Delwyn Dragonscale combined with Earth Splinter monsters. As a tank, he selected the Unicorn Mustang with its Void skill, in second position he placed the Oaken Behemoth with Reach and Magic Shield, in the third position the Mushroom Seer with Silence, in the fourth and fifth positions the duo Goblin Psychic and Wood Nymph with the Tank Heal skill and in the last position the Goblin Tower with the Blast skill.

My enemy knew how to take advantage of the Reverse Speed rule with most of his monsters, with the exception of his tank and his second position. The Goblin Tower had its Blast ability unusable with its presence on all monsters in the game. The vast majority of monsters had magic attack, falling into the Magic Reflect trap of my Prismatic Energy and the lower HP monsters were in the middle of the composition and without shield to protect them, everything my Deeplurker wanted.

At the start of the game, Wood Nymph was the first to be eliminated thanks to the damage of its own reflected attack. The Mushroom Seer was eliminated when targeted by my Deeplurker, who also took out the Goblin Psychic with the Blast of his attack.

In the second round the Oaken Behemoth went down with the Blast from my Torhilo The Frozen attack. The Goblin Tower eliminated my Wave Brood, but then died from Return Fire damage from its own attack. So there was only the Unicorn Mustang left on my opponent's side, who was eliminated early in the third round.

Analyzing the course of the match, I realized that I could have replaced my Frozen Soldier with more attack power, such as Feasting Seaweed. The Unicorn Mustang didn't do well with the Reverse Speed rule, but it still managed to be the last monster killed.

I hope you enjoyed this strategy that combines Amplify with Magic Reflect and Return Fire. If you want to follow the battle access Greengineer (2022-c).

A batalha

2 Round Magic Reflect.png

3 Round Magic Reflect.png
