Introduction

Another weekly challenge released (Splinterlands, 2022), this time about a neutral card from the Chaos Legion set, the Disintegrator.

This card brought some new features to the game mechanics as will be explained below:

Disintegrator Lvl 10

  • Demoralize: It is one of the 03 cards that have this ability since level 1 and the only one available in the ghost deck..

  • Trample: With it, it is possible to have the Trample skill with Silver level decks of any Splinter, without depending on specific cards.

  • Knock-Out: It is one of two neutral cards that have this ability.

  • Retaliate: With this ability, it becomes more dangerous and can fight back a physical attack received.

Disintegrator is not a good card for first position due to its low stats. But depending on the active game rule this card can shine, mainly because of its Demoralize debuff.

The battle I'm going to present had two rules that made it interesting, Up Close & Personal and Stampede.

The strategy before the battle

In the match I could only use monsters with melee attack and those who had the Trample ability could activate it in sequence. In this type of game I try to put monsters with the skills Thorns, Shield, Inspire and Demoralize. As I had Mylor Crowling at my disposal, I wouldn't have to worry about Thorns and I could combine it with the Shield skill.

This way I put the Mycelic Infantry as a tank and the Stone Golem in the last position with the Shield ability. In the third position I put the Disintegrator with Demoralize and Trample. In second position I left Rexxie with Trample and in fourth and fifth positions I placed a duo with Opportunity, Venari Scout and Screeching Vulture.

So every attack my opponent hits would cause their monsters to take damage with Thorns. The Demoralize combined with the Shield that protected my front and rear lines would increase the hits needed to take them down and consequently the damage received by Thorns. If my tank fell, I had 02 monsters with Trample that could obliterate the enemy team with Stampede active. Unlike Sneak and Reach, Opportunity could make my monsters hit targets that weren't my opponent's front or rear lines, which would likely be fortified with Shield or Thorns.

Once the team was selected I expected a long battle due to not having much variety in attacks.

The battle

My opponent used Summoner Zintar Mortalis, which reduces all enemy monsters' melee damage by one. As a tank he selected Cursed Windeku with his Thorns skill. In second position he placed Shadow Snitch with Reach. In the third position he used the Disintegrator combining Demoralize with the debuff provided by his summoner. In fourth and fifth positions he paired up the Skeleton Assassin and the Sand Worm with Sneak. In the rear he placed the Giant Scorpion with Thorns.

As predicted he protected the first and last positions with Thorns, but he didn't have Shield like me. In place of Opportunity he opted for Sneak, meaning his monsters would face the Stone Golem's wall and be vulnerable to my Opportunity duo's attack.

In the first round the Skeleton Assassin died due to Thorns damage combined with my duo's attacks.

2 Round Desintegrator.png

In the second round it was Shadow Snitch's turn to fall.

3 Round Desintegrator.png

In the third round the Sand Worm was shot down.

4 Round Desintegrator.png

In the fourth round Cursed Windeku was eliminated and my Screeching Vulture killed himself with Thorns.

5 Round Desintegrator.png

In the fifth round my opponent's Disintegrator was destroyed.

6 Round Desintegrator.png

In the seventh round my Venari Scout killed himself due to Thorns and in the eighth round the Giant Skorpion fell, guaranteeing me the victory.

8 Round Desintegrator.png

If the enemy Cursed Windeku had the Heal skill I could have been in serious trouble this match. I could have replaced the Rexxie with a monster with Reach to speed up the game, but other than that the composition held up well to enemy attacks.

I hope you enjoyed this strategy of using Mylor with the Disintegrator in games that only allow melee monsters. To follow the battle in detail just click on the link in Greengineer (2022).

--------PT/BR--------

A batalha

2 Round Desintegrator.png

No segundo round foi a vez do Shadow Snitch cair.

3 Round Desintegrator.png

No terceiro round o Sand Worm foi abatido.

4 Round Desintegrator.png
