Splinterlands Blast From The Past Reward Card Giveaway #20

Splinterlands Card Giveaway

Each week I host a giveaway for one of the original Reward Edition Splinterlands cards. Most of these cards have been out-of-print for almost two years, so new players can only get them in the market, and that can be pretty expensive. These giveaways are a way to help players build their deck for free.

Last week's prize was this Screeching Vulture card.

Now that the post has reached the end of the seven day point of payout it's time to spin the wheel of names and find out who the lucky winner is...

Congratulations to @subidu! You are now the proud owner of this new Screeching Vulture card. The card has been sent to your account. I hope it brings you many victories in the arena.

This Week's Giveaway

This week I am pleased to announce that the Blast From The Past Giveaway is a Ettin Spearman card.

Ettin Spearman_lv1.png

The Ettin Spearman is one of the most powerful of the original Reward Edition cards. With the ability to inflict 3 points of damage and 8 health points at level 1, this dual headed dynamo can not only dish it out, he (or is it they?) can take it too.

Currently the cheapest Level 1 Ettin Spearman card is $1.24 on the Splinterlands market. That means it is worth many times the 15 DEC you would get from burning the card. So don't even think about sending this card to the burn tanks!

If you are just starting out and haven't been able to add an Ettin Spearman to your deck or just need another one to level up, then you should get in on this giveaway. The Ettin Spearman card will be sent to one lucky winner when this contest closes at post payout time.

If this Ettin Spearman card doesn't fit in with your master plan for Splinterlands domination, or if you lack the skill and wisdom necessary to achieve victory with it, you can always rent it to someone else or try to sell it in the market.

How To Enter The Giveaway

For a chance to add this Ettin Spearman to your Splinterlands deck, just leave a comment. Be sure to add your Splinterlands account name if it's different than your entry name. Only 1 entry per person. The contest will end at the 7 day point of payout for this post, when I will use WHEEL OF NAMES to choose the winner.

Good Luck!

This is a strange card for me. I have mine up to level 9, will likely never top it off, and get limited use from it, not because it isn't a bad ass card, but because it lacks a cool factor for me, compared to other cards. I feel like I can get a lot more with the mana, save VERY specific conditions.

I think my major complaint is both abilities are conditional. Piercing can be effective throughout the entire battle, but armor generally isn't a factor late in the match, while Knockout needs not only a team member to have a different ability, but also needs it to hit before ES can really contribute to full potential.

This is a great card for lower level matches, as the hitting and staying power are formidable, but I use this card once or twice a month tops in the league I play in.

So..., I guess I'm landing in the range of this is a fantastic card for beginners, and one of the few heavy hitters that really shines down in the trenches, but it's not one I would consider worthy of dragging up to the heavens to challenge the gods.

I'd totally have a !BEER and some !PIZZA with it though!
