Splinterlands:: SPS Governance Voting is LIVE - Can we propose SPS rewards for LAND?

The Splinterlands team recently delivered on the SPS Governance voting proposal system right on track as per the Roadmap outlined for 2022. It went live recently and currently we have the proposal for - Split Ranked Battle Reward Pools By League; which mainly caters to changing the way how SPS rewards are distributed for ranked battles. Check out the proposal for more details on it. The point is that Splinterlands players, investors and others HOLDing staked SPS token can take part in the governance proposals for the game moving forward. So if you are the one with staked SPS head over to the Splinterlands governance proposal system and cast your vote - as every vote counts no matter how big or small your stake is with regards to staked SPS...

Following is my staked SPS; which is closing 160K mark. And I did like to reach a point where I have 200K+ SPS staked. Slowly and steadily getting there as my daily SPS staked rewards are being restaked. I like the way how governance tokens work. Primarily, the governance tokens gives control back to its holders. The right to vote on issues, developments, changes etc etc that governs the development and operations of a blockchain project and here its the Splinterlands game. The more stake a user has the more weightage his or her votes adds to the decision making of the proposal. Therefore we can rightly say that governance tokens further decentralizes the project and helps align interest of it token holders as to how they want to see the project developed moving forward.

Proposal for SPS rewards for LAND HOLDers

Lets take an example here for the Splinterlands game itself. Just imagine if we have a proposal for LAND HOLDers SPS rewards and the proposal passes; with majority of the stake HOLDers voting for YES on it. This is true decentralization in its best form. Players see value in a change for the game, they propose it and if the majority of the stake holders are in its favor. The same gets implemented into the game and everyone benefits from it. There is no single entity making a decision and hence the governance tokens here in our examples SPS tokens gives that value its the players HOLDing/Staking it.

I know the prices for the LAND is insane and have already 100x or even more but the point is that its an asset of the game and players HOLding it need to be incentivize further in some or the other form; maybe SPS rewards or DEC or something else. Currently, one piece of LAND on Wax atomimichub market is being sold for $170+. Earlier when we had SPS airdropped going on we had some points for LAND holdings. But now that the SPS airdrop is finished there is no incentive for LAND owners. Here comes the governance and I feel that a proposal for SPS rewards for LAND owners should be a WIN - WIN situation for players that owns LAND and the game as well; where we would see more demand/interest from players to own a piece of land and explore more about it. Not to forget the publicity that the game gets for distributing SPS/DEC rewards to the LAND HOLDErs..

Currently, as per the Splinterlands roadmap the next big thing lined up in for 4th Quater of 2022 is on revealing the converting the land claims and deeds. Survey land deed NFTs and revealing its properties. So altogether exciting time ahead for all those who are HOLDing LAND

A Final note before I end this post governance system for any blockchain or a project is imperative because of a variety of reasons outlined above and the main being the Decentralization of the system even further. It gives the control back of its users or the broad community of stakeholders and they further work towards aligning their interests and of the organization as well so that both the parties benefits - WIN-WIN situation for all.. No central authority controlling the system & that Makes a BIG Difference...
