Progress: Packs and Legendary - Going for Gold

Hello fellow Splinterlands gamers.

This season started pretty good for me. I went for the Gold-Hop again at the end of last season so I started with a rating of 1600 and was able to battle my way up to the 1900s pretty fast.

Change in Strategy

While I played for silver during my daily chests I managed to get 2 CL Packs the first days of the season and yesterday I got a legendary Djinn Oshannus.

It seems a lot of bots moved up to silver lately and they only play a bronze level 1 or 2 deck. So there are a lot of easy wins on the way although my rating does not improve much with only +3 or +5 per game.

Getting about 13 to 15 chests per day while keeping the ECR at a recoverable rate above 74% each day I decided to try something different for the rest of the season.

I played up above 1900 in the wild format and made the jump to Gold while staying in silver with my all modern deck. That way I can still pluck those bots in silver league while playing for daily gold chests. Today I managed to get enough points for 9 Chests which will be opened later this day. If there's anything good in it I'll give you another post tomorrow.

Guild progress

In the meantime we managed to score a beautiful first place with our guild. A nice report and selection of fine battles can be viewed in the guild's brawl report. We now are only 6 crowns missing for our level 2 arena which means we will still be playing in tier 1 but contribute a little bit more to the overall crown pool. With SPS coming to brawl rewards this might turn out to be another nice source of income.

I myself am now 1050 merits short of a new gladius pack, which should be up for grabs after two more brawls if things keep progressing as they are.

Riftwatchers presale

There was a lot of commotion about how the presale turned out. It sold out within under 2 minutes. I bought 100 packs with 10 bonus packs and after figuring out the block numbers I found out I was among the lucky ones who did not bleed into the general sale. So two promo airdrop cards should be mine in 5 days, I hope I can grab a third one from the market to make it a nice silver league version. And who knows, maybe I'm lucky and I'll get a third one with the remaining eligible packs. After all, there's a 2% chance per pack to get the airdrop. Maybe even a gold foil version? That would eliminate the need to hit the market.
