Hello Splinterlands Community, for this week I just want to share a certain battle I had against my opponent that uses a Sacred Llama Mage + Kron the Undying combination together with a high level Flesh Golem that has a good sustain with its Heal Ability, which I thought is a guaranteed victory for my opponent.

The Battle

The Ruleset

Equalizer

There are two ruleset for this match, first is the Equalizer. The Equalizer ruleset makes the initial health of all monsters in the battlefield equal to the health of the monster which has the highest base health between the either team. This is very effective with my lineup since the monsters I used are mostly low health monsters which will benefit from this rule.

Close Range

The other rule is Close Range which allows range monsters to attack at the first position. It also fits very well with my lineup since most of my team is composed of range monsters and with the equalizer effect in place I'm sure that my lineup can deal sufficient damage to win.

My Lineup

Summoner : General Sloan

I used General Sloan as my summoner for this battle. It gives +1 ranged damage to all ranged monsters on my team. Considering the two rulesets for this match, I decided to go with a ranged damage focus lineup.

Monster 1 : Time Mage

I put my Time Mage on the first position since it doesn't get a buff with General Sloan and it doesn't deal too much damage. The purpose of this card is to slow down all the enemies while also serving as a frontline.

Monster 2 : Vulguine

I also used my Gold Foil Vulguine for this battle. It has a Scavenger Ability which grants the card +1 health for every monster that dies in the battle. I decided to put this card behind Time Mage so I can utilize the Scavenger Ability very well.

Monster 3 : Venari Crystalsmith

This card is very useful for this battle. It has a Tank Heal ability which restores a portion of health of the monster on the first position. It makes the frontline more durable at the same time this card deals good damage thanks to the buff from my summoner.

Monster 4 : Prismologist

I used my Prismologist as one of the main ranged damage dealers for this battle. It has a blast ability which deals additional damage to the monster which is adjacent to the target monster. The ranged damage buff from the General Sloan will make this card deal more blast damage to the opponents.

Monster 5 : Pelacor Arbalest

Lastly I put my Pelacor Arbalest at the last position since it deals the most ranged damage in a single turn. The double strike ability is very useful against monsters with high amount of health or shield. It benefits a lot with both of the rulesets and this card is also my key to win this battle.

ROUND 1

I managed to take down my opponent's fungus fiend which doesn't deal too much damage but it's death gives my Vulguine an additonal health thanks to the scavenger ability. My time mage was able to survive the burst coming from the flesh golem, mushroom seer and kron the undying.

ROUND 2

On the second round my Time Mage was defeated. I was able to deal a decent amount of damage against the flesh golem but I know it cannot be defeated easily because of its heal ability. My Vulguine also gained additional 1 health with the scavenger ability.

ROUND 3

During the third round I somehow managed to take down the opponent's flesh golem even though my Prismologist missed her attack during that round. I got the upper hand after that round but there is still a tougher opponent at the end.

Round 4

I was able to take down the opponent's furious chicken giving me a huge advantage heading to the next round. The Vulguine did well in surviving the burst coming from the opponent's magic attack also with the help of the tank heal ability from the Venari Crystalsmith.

Round 5

During the 5th round I've taken down the opponent's mushroom seer. This leads to the last opponent which is Kron the Undying. That card has a heal and last stand ability from the summoner Llama which makes it unstoppable. By that time I'm not sure if I would be able to win this match or not.

Rounds 6 and 7

During the last two round of the match, the Kron deals a massive 5 magic damage to my team however that damage was negated by the healing from the Venari Crystalsmith. The 5 Health healing from Venari Crystalsmith is massive to make the Vulguine survive throughout the last rounds of this match. In the end the damage from Prismologist ,Pelacor Arbalest as well as from Venari Crystalsmith and Vulguine is enough to take down Kron and win this ranked battle.
