Hello everyone, here is my entry for this week's Splinterlands Battle Challenge - the Radiated Brute!

Here is the link to the game if you prefer to watch it for yourself.

The brute is a good secondary reach monster, which is cheaper compared to the alternatives in the fire splinter:

I got him at level 1 for now because I mostly use it in the reverse speed ruleset to make the most out of the 1 speed, when I get more copies I plan on leveling him up.

Fire is my weakest splinter, but at the start of the season when I got knocked down to silver 2 and getting the fire quest made me play it a bit more. I do eventually plan to maybe build a fire deck but my focus for now is more on water and death.

On to the game for the challenge:

The ruleset is as follows

No healing, no ranged, a perfect opportunity to go fire in this game.

My lineup is as follows:
For a summoner I go with Tarsa for the buffs she provides, got her level 2 for now

As tank I went with Grum Flameblade even though he is high mana my opponent have played a few earth magic games before hand and I presumed that there is a high chance he might go with magic here also, so I threw the big boy in to negate some of that magic damage:

Got him level 1, because I can't play him higher anyway for now.

Next up is the star of the show the Radiated Brute:

As I already mentioned I got him only level 1 for now mostly for the reverse speed ruleset and normally I go with Finneas Rage on this spot, but I went with the brute to save up on some mana to be able to throw in my last card, which is:

Uraeus.png
This is a total beast of a sneak monster, having the armor makes it even that more resilient, it is amazing paired with Tarsa to go through that backline. My thought was it will serve 2 purposes, if they go with magic I hope it can pick out the enemy backline, or if they go with sneak it will buy me some extra time for my frontline to do its magic.

On to the game itself:

Round 1

R1.png
As predicted the enemy went with magic so Uraeus should be able to pick some of that backline (spoiler alert - it won't because of that elusive annoying thing on the back, we can all agree that we all hate playing against him).

R4.png
So round 1 nothing much happening we traded some damage, Grum did his job absorbing some of the magic damage with his shield and on to round 2 we go.

Round 2

R2.png
Round 2 his tank goes down and Grum is barely hanging on with 2 hp left, but he managed to get the killing blow so he got his all so needed buff!

Round 3

R3.png
Round 3 Grum absorbs 1 hit with the void armor and gets another killing blow, note the Peryton is still alive and dodging, making my Uraeus essentially useless.

Round 4

R4.png
Grum had just enough HP to survive the hit from the Peryton and he got another killing blow on the Chaos Agent.

Round 5

R5.png
Finally Grum succumbs to all the punishment he has taken through the whole game and then all of the sudden the stars align and Uraeus manages to land that final blow on the elusive beast for the game!

Here is the result

As final thoughts I can say that I really enjoy the fire splinter at higher mana games but I still lack the cards to play it effectively, maybe one day my deck will grow to the point that I can branch out to fire as well. Overall this was a fun game that I enjoyed dissecting for you all.

Thank you everyone that took the time of your day to check out my post, I hope that you liked it and I wish you all an amazing day and don't forget to stay positive!
