Introductory Post: The guy behind @iamgem005

Hey Hive Community! It has been a while since I was reminded by @lovesniper to do an introduction post. I think now is the best time to do this as I have a clear thinking on how do I properly present myself to the hive community and some extra time to write this.

My name is Gemric and I usually go by the of iamgem005. I am a Licensed Electronics Engineer from Laguna, Philippines. I am currently working in a Telecommunication company for more than 10 years. People said that I am a happy go lucky person that is always calm no matter the situation goes bad. I am a toy collector, a movie goer, an ex hobbyist photographer, a gamer and a person who loves to travel.

It was around the year of 2010 where I began my hobby in photography which mainly focus on taking portraits of cosplayers and models. My first camera was a Nikon D3100 model. It was the same year that the camera brand Nikon did a campaign themed "I Am Nikon". So there is goes "iam" from the Nikon campaign + "gem" as my nickname + "005" is my birthday resulting to iamgem005.

On a side note, because of my busy schedule at work, I do not have the time to do photography stuff that is why I left this hobby but the iamgem005 legacy goes on.

Last April 2021, I started my journey in cryptocurrency trying to learn anything about the cryptocurrency world. I started buying crypto in my spot wallet. I was a total noob! Lot of questions "How does it work?" "What are those tokens?", "When do the price will go up?" and etc. And then the hype for Play to Earn games started which is the most well known Axie Infinity. It was crazy that you need to invest a big amount of money for you to start that game. As an alternative, I've tried to find another game which is more affordable to start then TADA!! I found Splinterlands. I did not regret that decision.
Later on, my friend told me that there are lot of things in the Hive which is really amazing. I am not fond of writing a long post nor doing blog stuff but recently I just found out that I am enjoying this.

I am a Marvel fan. I do collect Marvel action figures specifically the MCU Marvel Legends toyline as this toyline has a good quality and budget friendly. Hot Toys with a best quality is so expensive and way out of my budget. I also have some Star Wars Black Series and G.I. Joe Classified Series collection.

Going one place to another, hiking (not a pro), trekking, visiting tourist spots and restaurant and chilling at the beach. These are some of the activities that I usually do when travelling. Since the pandemic began, travelling is hard but because of so many restriction and requirements but thankfully everything is going back to normal little by little. I'm gonna drop some photos in my previous travels. Enjoy!

I am planning to increase my card collection in Splinterlands in order to compete further in the tournament and leaderboards. I am currently building my deck for silver league little by little. I do believe that Splinterlands future is very bright.

If time permits, I might write contents about my upcoming travels here in PeakD to share my experience. Any recommendation in which community I can share this type of contents?
