Ruleset

Earthquake: No Flying monsters take 2 Melee damage at the end of each round.
Up close and Personal: Only Monsters with Melee attack can be used.

Lineup

In this battle I choose to use Kelya due to having +1 shield which allows each creature to last one additional round.

I was also looking for creatures with a good amount of health to last several rounds. I added one flying and one healing creature to offset the Earthquake damage.

Tank: Diemonshark
Second Position: Flying Squid
Third Position:Demented Shark
Fourth Position: Sea Monster
Fifth Position: DeepLurker
Sixth Position: Gargoya Lion

Results

My monsters were able to take out the tank in the first round. This reduced the damage they could apply.

Second Round: I was able to take out another two monsters and Eliminated their sneak monster. This reduced the amount of damage that my team would be taking each round.

Third Round: Another monster was taken out. However earthquake damage would take out three of my monsters.

Fourth Round: I had two monsters left and their side had one left. Their monster having shield reduced their earthquake damage to one per turn.

The battle ended in the Sixth Round with the Sea Monster taking out their Mycelic Infantry.

Conclusion

Flying Squid contributed to my win by applying four damage per round for several rounds.

This allowed my Gargoya Lion to finish up without taking much damage.

Well done. It's a good monster and I would use it more often but I usually go with magic when focusing on Water splinter.

Yes thanks. I believe the 5 previous battles of my opponent had been death.

Nice battle. I like the way Sea Monster with heal also contributed to the win. Take care.

Yes It is always to hold monsters in reserve that can't attack each round. With Earthquake it is a waiting game to wait for non flying to be gone.

I totally agree. That is why I try to add at least one healing monster in my lineup for both earthquake and noxious fumes rulesets. Take care.
