# Chaos and Crashes - Splinter Stats Season 63 Report Card

Talk about ups and downs. We came into this season excited about Chaos Legion and we left it in a crash that many people will blame on CL but in reality, the excitement of CL was the only thing keeping it glued. The crash was incoming for a while based on the math of the rental market alone. Can we come back out of it? That depends on if they can start the growth engine back up. With CL out, we now need to triple the user base at least.

I didn't do nearly as bad as I thought performance wise. I only did about 10 daily quests I believe because my internet here on the beach is abysmal and mostly in lower leagues than I'm used to but it look like my win ratio was decent. I'll take it!

As I just said I wasn't able to do all of my daily quests but I was't getting anything great until the last day when I pulled out a gold Epic Djinn Renova. It was only worth half as much as it would have been last week but I do have a certain affection for any gold epic so I was thrilled to get it. Plus its still a $50 card.

I've been fortunate because just before they switch the quest potions to DEC only, I bought a 100 pack. Unfortunately I only have a few left and then I'll have 5 fewer chests each day. That's going to hurt a bit since I've always used those potions wince I started playing 9 months ago so I've always had at least 6 chests.

Ugh, So I ended off the season with 189,566 dec from rentals which is about $1000. Honestly I've had some single days where I've made $1000 so the fact that this now represents a 15 day season is bad. While I won't scoff at $1000, for the amount of work I put into it, $1000 just isn't going to cut it. Plus its shrinking rapidly and I'd be surprised if I hat $800 in this next season unless DEC comes roaring back.

SPS has sure been weak. Even though I'm taking in almost 300 SPS per day, the value of my holdings just keep dropping overall. I did make a change to what I'm doing though. I used to stake everything I got regardless but now I stake most days but every few days I put my the days rewards into a state.swap/SPS liquidity pool. The rewards have been a little better since the SPS staking rewards have been dropping.

In closing, it's been a rough season and one that showed that Splinterlands isn't in quite the great shape many thought it was. I did enjoy opening card packs and I picked up some great cards in there but for the $3000 in cards I pulled out of 155 packs, my other cards lost 10x that in value. Overall I think my portfolio in Splinterlands took about a $45k hit this season and my income fell off a cliff and is just getting worse. Here's looking for better days tomorrow.
