# Bring out your dead - Splinter Stats Season 65 Report Card

I'm calling this the bring out your dead season because Splinterlands isn't showing signs of life. Oh, wait, sorry. As I write this we are closing up the biggest sales day in the history of the game.

Let's see now, that must mean SPS is up? No? What about Dec? No? Right because a giant fomo buy that puts a lot of money in the companies coffers but destroys the game economy isn't good for the long terms success of the game and therefore what really matters isn't reacting.

But don't worry, there will be some fomo when land gets released. Land being released will be their last chance to fix this game. So far, I don't think they even see the problems.

I only played a few days. Honestly, the whole thing just makes me a little bit ill to think about just how badly this game and economy was mismanaged.

Rewards cards are essentially worthless. They have no rental or sales value. I guess I could get $5, ooops that was last month, I meant .30 cents for the wavesmith I got.

Look at that! I got 74k DEC over 15 days for rentals. That's 3% per year on my portfolio. Oh wait, that's when the rental market was worth $9k per day. It's a new season so its already dropped again down to $7000 per day and now that the general sale is on, I'm sure it will be low $6k by the end of this season. So now its 2%. I can almost get that from a CD at the bank except with no risk and the value of the CD only dropping by a few percentage points instead of risking freefall after already being cu tin half.

I picked up 4000 more SPS. This means I added almost 10% to my SPS stake this season, and still somehow my total SPS value is down 16% from last season lol.

Maybe I'm crazy. No one else seems to see what I see when I look a this game. Recently I went back through my old posts from a few months ago where I was warning of what would happen and its playing out exactly in that way. Those posts from September and October are prophetic at this point. But who knows? Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe they do see the problem and they're working to fix it in a way I'm too dumb to fathom. But to me it just looks like a big sinking ship. One that if turned around would become the powerhouse we all know it can be and a super exciting place to play and invest but if not turned around, drops right to the ocean floor and is forgotten about like so many others before it.

The thing is, it would be easy to turn it around and that's why I haven't pulled myself away from it.
