SHARE YOUR BATTLE Weekly Challenge! CAVE SLUGS
Every week there is a Splinterlands challenge to share a battle using a specific card and on this week's post it is the Cave Slugs. I also encourage Splinterlands players to partake in the challenge because you get to try different strategies and earn some crypto in the process.
Featured Monster: Cave Slugs
Cave Slugs is a light splinter card. It has opportunity from the start, learns scavenger when it reaches level 6 and slow at level 10. This is a great card that I use quite a bit when I use a light splinters. Despite its slow speed, it deals quite a bit of damage at level 5. So with 3 damage, it tends to kill off quite a few of of my opponent's cards.
I have thought about increasing the level of my Cave Slug but my summoner's level are lacking so I would not be able to take advantage of it. The scavenger would make it survive longer and it would be nice because sometimes it dies before it attacks due to its slow speed.
Rule set, Battle and Plan
The rule set this time is Silenced Summoner. So this means that my summoner buffs are invalid for the entire match. It generally doesn't change my strategy much but I stay away from the 7 mana summoners since it only uses up some of my mana cost for normal cards. As for normal strategy, I don't think it will affect things as much.
The summoner I choose to use this time is Drake of Arnak because it has the highest level summoner I have and it gives me access to dragon splinter cards. By choosing dragon splinter with light deck, I have access to dragon, light and neutral splinters. I think I will go with a stalling strategy and take advantage of opportunity to kill off my opponent's cards.
Round 1
I am not looking forward to this match after seeing my opponent's line up. I am hoping to get rid of that silvershield knight in the front line so it removes my opponent's melee attack buff. While that is happening, my opportunity monsters will take the chance to remove my opponent's lineup and give me the chance to win.
Round 2
My shield bearer is down but it did it's job and removed the silvershield knight. As long as I don't miss, I should be able to kill off my opponent's healer and I am hoping my opponent misses a few times due to the flying ability on my cards.
Round 3
The healer died off and I only lost my chicken. The flying ability helped and my dragon jumper took no damage from the double sneak attack.
Round 4
I think the match is pretty much over since I have 3 cards alive and two of them will move before my opponent has his chance. I still have the flying ability on my cards and my opponent doesn't really have anything to improve his dodging chances.
One round later, I finish off my opponent. My eagle was able to dodge but even if it didn't, I had some more monsters to take it's place.
Conclusion
It was a nice battle and I am glad my setup of flying monsters and opportunity cards worked out. That shield bearer really did a great job because it would of been possible for my dragon jumper to die early without it. I am very glad that everything worked out without any issues during the match.
You can see my entire match here.
What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would of done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.
I upvoted you, thank you for posting! 👍🏽
