Leveling Up Your Death Monsters for Level 5
Most of the summoners that we play with are rare. When we get them up to level 5 we can pair them with level 6 commons, level 5 rares, level 4 epics and level 3 legendary monsters.
At this point in my series I'm planning to integrate cards from Rebellion with cards from Chaos Legion, because I've addressed those groups separately in the past.
I think these are some of the most impactful death monsters to start leveling up if you happen to have some level 5 rare summoners to pair them with. These upgrades will also work if you have level 3 legendary summoners, level 4 epic summoners or level 6 common summoners.
At level 5 Cursed Windeku picks up the heal ability. It was already the go to tank in the death splinter, this takes it into another stratosphere.
At level 4 Revealer picks up immunity and is pretty much an auto include for the noxious fumes ruleset.
At level 3 Harklaw picks up the demoralize ability. This is a potent combination with the shield ability when you're in line for melee attackers. This would be a much more popular tank if Cursed Windeku weren't an auto include for so many death lineups.
At level 5 Chaos Jailer picks up the slow ability.
When picking out new cards to level up, it's important to consider whether you'll be playing in modern or wild format. All of the cards that I discussed in today's post are legal in modern. If you start to level these cards up remember that they will revert to a lower level if you play them with a rare summoner at level 1, 2, 3 or 4 or even a level 2 legendary summoner.
I would love to hear what some of your favorite cards are to level up. I'll keep pointing out the ones I can. Another great place to find them is the cards that you get beat by on the battlefield.
