82 reward chests, it was fun while it lasted....

Last season was the first glimpse of the new reward system in Splinterlands and initially I was baffled by how much oppertunity this brought me. Now it was really the version of 'the more you play, the better chance you have on earning. And so I played and I earned. Until the new season started...

With only 5000 Focus Points on the daily for earning a chest, this meant that often with my first game I already reeled in 3 or 4 chests filled with rewards. Talk about making a good daily deal on this. 5000 focus points were based on that I started the season in bronze and I grinded my way up higher. I made around 15-17 chests per day with just daily quests and had decent rewards in there.

In the previous system I often had to juggle my way through the daily quests and depending in what league I was in I woud receive somewhere between 4 and 7 chests. At the end of the season I would earn somewhere from 22 to 28 chests depending where I would end up.

Now this was 82 chests at the end of the season. I was ectatic yesterday when I was making my conclusions on how the season had went.

But that was previous season, no chance on getting there anymore

fp

As said, in my previous season I started in bronze and I needed 5000 FP for a chest that would go up whenever you had reached more chests. Reasonable I would say.

But since I ended up in Diamond league at the end of the season, and went back to Gold 2 now I am playing for the daily rewards starting at 43000 FP per chest. And going up from there.

Bye bye big rewards!

As you see I only got 8000 FP for a win (I must admit, I had lost a tremendous amount of games already which decreases you FP wins) so I will need now 3-4 wins for only 1 chest. This is the same for the Season Points (SP) also starting from 43000.

And now I am wondering what is wisdom here. Do you think it is profitable to grind myself through these seasons with maybe making a chest here and there and always be against big opponents.

Or is another other to chill the fack out, do nothing (maybe even use an alt account and send my cards to there and play from there and also have the small FP bonus) and wait till I drop in leagues again where it will be easier to get some rewards?

I don't want to be the alt acocunt milker, but now my play-2-earn is more of a grind-like-crap-2-earn for maybe some chests. Or am I blindsighted now because of how good the rewards were in previous season, and was just to good to be true?

How is your current Splinterlands tactic looking from now on?
