A peek over to Chaos Legion now and beyond

While everyone was opening their Chaos Legion packs in Splinterlands as mad men on a couple of weeks back, I was somewhere one the other side of the world without only some mobile access.

This made me decide to open a couple of packs every day, while in other card sets where I bought everything by bulk I made like an opening frenzy. I don't know what is better, the opening frenzy is all hype ofcourse but this day by day opening makes it a lot better to comprehend what you actually have.

This is the final score of the legendary cards after a draw of 117 packs. Ofcourse Dr Blight was the best card in value and I have received 4 of them. You can see only 2 now because they are on the rental market, which has collapsed for a good one honestly. Buy the hype, sell the news right?

When looking at Peakmonsters for the value of stuff you can see these Dr Blights are going for $100 per pieve which initially started at $140 which already makes you think that buying these packs early which makes you eligible for these airdrops in the end will give you the value for you buck.

My legendaries in total have a current value of $522.

Now looking at the gold foil cards there was also a decent draw for the 117 packs. People expect to always draw a legendary goil foil, we all realistically know that isn't always the case.





Again according to peakmonsters this has a current value of $71 bucks which was a lot higher two weeks ago. Bringing the total value of the entire Chaos deck to $817 and looking at the investment of around $2000 where the biggest load was in the buying of the vouchers this seems like a bad deal.

I honestly believe it isn't. The hype around the cards has settles down for a bit now and the prices need to rearrange into logical stuff again. This happens with all launches of things. It needs some time.

Now the second release of the next 1 million packs is around the corner in 19 days and to my surprise currently it was only possible to buy packs with credits. Credits haven't done anything for me as yet, so I wasn't too happy with that, until I discovered that you can easily can convert a lot of types of assets to credits also including DEC, but no SPS which was just really convenient in the last purchase.





I guess the team really wants SPS to be a staking currency versus a spending currency since it will be given out only this year and after that it will be a mystery.

For me this means I have choosen to sell the vouchers I have received this time and buy packs again when the regular sale is without vouchers. Maybe this vision is short term, but on the other hand....

It is good to do a bit of staking and investing, but also to take some profits along the line from the free cash you receive from this game. Make some smart moves right?
