So last night I could not sleep for some reason. Well, it happens now and then. After taking care of some investment moves, to utilize my time well I clicked on Splinterlands and started playing the Water Splinter in the hope of finding winning combinations.

Long story short, I found one that you can use to increase your win percentage, hell, even with variations to be used between low/high mana battles.

Parenthetically, this was a very timely find for me - my daily quest today was a water quest which I completed in seven battles using what I'm now going to share with you. This may seem a bit confusing at first, but try using these various combinations for the different battle mana when you play, the confusion will disappear and you will discover truly how easy this is to use (and boost your win percentage in the process).

First: Use ALRIC STORMBRINGER as your Summoner for all battle mana (mana = 3):

Next: Always!!!! start with FROZEN SOLDIER in the first position (this does not work otherwise) (mana = 6):

  • Be aware, here is where the first variation for low mana (12, 13 and 14) battles comes into play. For a 12 mana battle:

Use ENCHANTED PIXIE in the second spot and rumble (mana = 3)

Variation 2 is for a 13 mana battle:

Use SPINEBACK TURTLE in the second spot and rumble (mana = 4)

Variation 3 is for a 14 mana battle:

Use WATER ELEMENTAL in the second spot and rumble (mana = 5)

Starting with mana 15 battles and all higher battles:

Use DEMENTED SHARK in the second spot (mana = 6) it is at this point the percentage of wins really grows:

For battles requiring 16 through 19, use the combination of FROZEN SOLDIER and DEMENTED SHARK plus ONE additional card of your choice to match the total battle mana for the round (try and use the fastest card that does some damage, an ability is nice but I did not find it to be necessary).

For battles with mana 20 and up, always use this three card combination in slot one, two and three in this order: FROZEN SOLDIER, DEMENTED SHARK, and WATER ELEMENTAL. Then fill in with fast cards (with high health, if possible) to fill the battle mana.

Using these combinations, in three separate 10 battle trial runs, my win percentage was 70%, 80% and 70% across the spectrum of battle mana. Give them a try, they really worked for me, and I hope they work for you too.

I think I'm going to look into strategies for the Earth splinter next. But I have some writing to do tomorrow, so it will most likely be Sunday before I can post my findings.

In my prior post, I advised:

As with all newbies, most of my current game play is spent struggling through different combinations of cards to choose for battle that provide a high percentage of wins - consistently. Mind you now, I did not say this was a 100% deal I'm giving you.

When I find a strategy or combination of cards to play to improve your win percentage I will be more than happy to share it with anyone interested. I'm just learning the game as well, but I do have the time to play in the hopes of finding new viable combinations to bring us all wins.

Enjoy the game, keep playing and have fun!

These are the type of posts I'm looking for right. Being a newbie is tough. I haven't even attempted Water yet.

Hey Kevin, I need your help. Can you tell me how much investment (in USD) is sufficient to start with Splinterlands? Any approx. idea depending on the current prices?

That one is easy my friend. All you need is $10 to purchase the Summoner's Handbook. With that you get a base 'starter set' of cards to play. Even with the starter set, wins are possible.

That is all it takes to start. It's frustrating at first - but quickly becomes addictive! Enjoy.
