My Road to Riftwatchers - # 1 FAQ und Plans
Intro
Die nächste Miniedition für Splinterlands namens Riftwatchers steht in den Startlöchern.
Natürlich möchte ich mir auch davon einige Packs sichern. Bis vor kurzem wollte ich noch mindestens 100 Packs. Das hat sich aber nun geändert.
In diesem Artikel beschäftige ich mich mit dem, was bereits über Riftwatchers bekannt ist, wie dies meine Planung zum Kauf der Packs beeinflusst, und wie ich gedenke es zu finanzieren.
Intro
The next mini-edition for Splinterlands called Riftwatchers is waiting in the wings.
Of course I want to get some packs of it as well. Until recently I wanted at least 100 packs. But that has changed now.
In this article, I'll look at what is already known about Riftwatchers, how this affects my planning to buy the packs, and how I intend to fund it.

What we know so far?
Here I summarize all known news about Riftwatchers (RW) from my point of view.
Wann soll RW erscheinen?
Auf dem Townhall am 08.08.22 wurde bekanntgegeben, dass Riftwatchers "Anfang September" erscheinen soll.
Zum genauen Datum des Verkaufsstarts ist nichts bekannt. Weder für den Presale noch für den General Sale.
Es wurde im Townhall darauf hingewiesen, dass man jetzt beginnen sollte seine SPS zu unstaken, wenn man diese zum kaufen von Packs verwenden will.
Der PreSale dürfte also kurz bevorstehen.

Riftwatchers wird wohl nicht vor Mitte September erscheinen.
When is RW scheduled to be released?
At the Townhall on 08.08.22 it was announced that Riftwatchers should be released "in early September".
Nothing is known about the exact date of the sale launch. Neither for the Presale nor for the General Sale.
It was pointed out in the Townhall that you should start unstaking your SPS now if you want to use them to buy packs.
So the PreSale should be coming soon.

Wie viele Packs werden verkauft?
Insgesamt werden 3.000.000 Packs verkauft. Jedes Pack wird wieder 5 Karten enthalten.
Insgesamt werden also 15.000.000 Riftwatchers Karten erzeugt.
How many packs will be sold?
A total of 3,000,000 packs will be sold. Each pack will again contain 5 cards.
So in total 15,000,000 Riftwatchers cards will be generated.
Was wird ein Pack kosten?
Ein Riftwatchers Pack mit 5 Karten wird 5 $ kosten. Diese können nur in SPS bezahlt werden.
Zusätzlich sollen laut letztem Townhall Voucher während des Presale benötigt werden.
Wenn dies wie bei Chaos Legion gehandhabt wird, würde es bedeuten, das für jedes Pack im Presale zusätzlich zu den 5 $ in SPS ein Voucher zu zahlen ist.
Wenn es wie im Chaos Legion Pack Sale läuft, wird man bei größeren Käufen auch wieder Bonuspacks gegen Voucher erhalten können.
Bei Chaos Legion waren dies
- 10 % ab 100 Packs
- 15 % ab 500 Packs
- 20 % ab 2000 Packs
Bonuspacks konnten damals ohne die SPS Kosten für jeweils einen Voucher mitgekauft werden.
How much will a pack cost?
A Riftwatchers Pack with 5 cards will cost $5. These can be paid only in SPS.
Additionally, according to the last Townhall vouchers will be required during the presale.
If this is handled like in Chaos Legion, it would mean that for each pack in the presale a voucher has to be paid in addition to the 5 $ in SPS.
If it goes like the Chaos Legion Pack Sale, you will also again be able to get bonus packs against vouchers for larger purchases.
In Chaos Legion these were
- 10 % from 100 Packs
- 15 % from 500 Packs
- 20 % from 2000 Packs
Bonus packs could be bought without the SPS costs for one voucher each.
Welche Karten wird es geben?
Insgesamt soll es 43 verschiedene Karten geben.
Davon eine Promokarte, die nur während des PreSales als Belohnung für den Kauf von Packs zu bekommen ist.
What cards will there be?
There will be a total of 43 different cards.
One of them is a promo card that can only be obtained during the PreSale as a reward for buying packs.

Wie laufen die Airdrops?
Bisher ist noch nichts genaues bekannt.
Da es laut dem obigen Screenshot 6 Airdropkarten geben soll, gehe ich davon aus, dass alle 500.000 verkaufte Packs eine Karte gedroppt wird.
How are the airdrops going?
So far nothing is known exactly.
Since there are supposed to be 6 airdrop cards according to the screenshot above, I assume that one card will be dropped every 500,000 packs sold.
Wie erhalte ich die Promokarte?
Bisher ist noch nicht viel hierzu bekannt.
Die Promokarte wird nur als Belohnung für den Kauf von Riftwatcher Packs während des PreSale zu bekommen sein.
Bei Dr. Blight in Chaos Legion gab es eine sichere Dr. Blight Karte mit 1 BCX pro 50 gekauften Packs. Pro 1.000 Packs gab es sicher eine GF Version von Dr. Blight.
Der PreSale beinhaltete jedoch auch 1.000.000 Packs. Ich bin gespannt wie dies diesmal sein wird.
How do I get the promo card?
Not much is known about this yet.
The promo card will only be available as a reward for purchasing Riftwatcher packs during the PreSale.
With Dr. Blight in Chaos Legion, there was a sure Dr. Blight card with 1 BCX per 50 packs purchased. There was certainly one GF version of Dr. Blight per 1,000 packs.
However, the PreSale also included 1,000,000 packs. I am curious how this will be this time.
Meine Planung zu RW
Ursprünglich wollte ich 100 Riftwatcher Packs kaufen. Dafür sind 500 $ in SPS und wahrscheinlich 100 Voucher notwendig.
Die 100 Voucher hatte ich mir bis Ende Mai / Juni zusammengespart. Auch die SPS für 100 Packs besitze ich bereits.
Durch meine LICENSE erhalte ich auch jetzt noch jeden Tag etwas mehr als 6 Voucher.
Da ich diese nicht verkaufe, habe ich inzwischen über 500 Voucher in Game bzw. im Swap.Hive:Voucher Liquidity Pool.
Daher habe ich nun überlegt, ob ich mir nicht mehr als "nur" 100 RW Packs leisten soll.
Folgende Faktoren sind dabei für mich wichtig:
My planning to RW
Originally I was going to buy 100 Riftwatcher packs. This will require $500 in SPS and probably 100 vouchers.
I had saved up the 100 vouchers by the end of May / June. I also already have the SPS for 100 packs.
Through my LICENSE I still receive a little over 6 vouchers every day.
Since I do not sell these, I have meanwhile over 500 Voucher in Game and/or in the Swap.Hive:Voucher Liquidity pool.
Therefore, I have now considered whether I should not afford more than "only" 100 RW Packs.
The following factors are important for me:
Wieviele Karten benötige ich?
Derzeit spiele ich meinen Hauptaccount auf Gold und den Zweitaccount auf Silber.
Ich gehe nicht davon aus, dass ich beide Accounts nun voll ausstatten kann und werde für die Berechung der benötigten Packs erstmal nur ein Goldmax-Deck in Regular Foil anstreben.
Ich gehe von Levelvoraussetzungen wie bei CL aus. Dies bedeutet:
How many cards do I need?
I currently play my main account on Gold and the secondary account on Silver.
I don't expect to be able to fully equip both accounts now and will only aim for a Goldmax deck in Regular Foil for now when calculating the packs needed.
I am assuming level requirements like CL. This means:
Die Tabelle ist schnell erklärt. Die letzte Spalte zeigt, wie viele Packs benötigt werden, um genügend Karten zu ziehen, um bei einer gleichmäßigen Verteilung alle Riftwatcherskarten auf Gold zu bringen (8,6,5,3).
Dabei ist weder berücksichtigt, dass Epic Summoner auf Gold Rarekarten bis Level 7 spielen können, noch dass ich einige Epic Summoner über die Airdrops erhalten sollte.
Aber selbst wenn man dies auslässt, sieht man, dass ich mit 100 Packs nicht weit komme.
Selbst wenn ich 500 Packs kaufen sollte, müsste ich noch einige Einzelkarten zukaufen, was am Ende wahrscheinlich ohnehin der günstigere Weg sein wird.
The table is quickly explained. The last column shows how many packs are needed to draw enough cards to get all Riftwatchers cards to Gold, assuming an even distribution (8,6,5,3).
This does not take into account that Epic Summoners on Gold can play Rare cards up to level 7, nor that I should be able to get some Epic Summoners via the airdrops.
But even leaving this out, you can see that 100 packs won't get me very far.
Even if I were to buy 500 packs, I'd still have to buy some single cards, which will probably end up being the cheaper way to go anyway.
Benötigte Packs pro Promokarte?
Natürlich hätte ich auch gerne genügend Packs, um die Promokarte in ausreichender Anzahl zu erhalten.
Wenn es wie bei CL läuft, müssten 300 Packs für 6 BCX und damit Gold reichen. Ich gehe einfach davon aus, dass die Promokarte auch wieder eine legendäre Karte sein wird.
Auch wenn nichts zur Anzahl Packs pro BCX bekannt ist, habe ich versucht mich mathematisch einer sinnvollen Anzahl, die Splinterlands vorgeben könnte zu nähern.
Dabei schaue ich mir zuerst an, wie viele BCX einer legendären RW Karte es nach dem Öffnen aller Packs geben sollte.
Packs needed per promo card?
Of course, I would also like to have enough packs to get the promo card in sufficient numbers.
If it goes like CL, 300 packs should be enough for 6 BCX and thus gold. I just assume that the promo card will also be a legendary card again.
Even though nothing is known about the number of packs per BCX, I tried to approach mathematically a reasonable number that Splinterlands could give.
First I look at how many BCX of a legendary RW card there should be after opening all packs.
Bei 3 Millionen verkauften Packs und somit 15 Millionen Karten und einer Droprate von 1,6 % (ich gehe davon aus, dass jeder alle Potions nutzt) gibt es insgesamt 240.000 legendäre BCX bzw. 40.000 BCX pro legendärer Karte.
Wenn wir nun davon ausgehen, dass die Promokarte etwa halb so häufig sein sollte, kommen wir zu folgender Tabelle:
With 3 million packs sold, and thus 15 million cards, and a drop rate of 1.6% (I'm assuming everyone uses all potions), there are a total of 240,000 legendary BCX, or 40,000 BCX per legendary card.
If we now assume that the promo card should be about half as common, we arrive at the following table:
Wenn tatsächlich 20.000 BCX der Promokarte erzeugt werden sollen und die PreSalephase nur 200.000 Packs dauert, müsste es für jeweils 10 gekaufte Packs eine Promokarte geben.
Das kann ich mir beim besten willen nicht vorstellen. Entweder ist die PreSale Phase deutlich länger, oder die Promokarte wird seltener als bisher.
Bisher bin ich bei 3 Millionen Packs insgesamt von einer Presale Phase von maximal 500.000 Packs ausgegangen. Aber wer weiß vielleicht werden es doch wieder 1 Million.
So oder so gehe ich davon aus, dass der Schlüssel von 1:50 Packs nicht überstiegen werden wird.
Somit sollten 300 Packs für mein Gold Deck ausreichen.
The table shows the relationship between the desired BCX of the promo card and the number of packs that are sold in the PreSale and are therefore promo-capable.
If in fact 20,000 BCX of the promo card are to be generated and the PreSale phase lasts only 200,000 packs, there would have to be one promo card for every 10 packs purchased.
I can't imagine that with the best will in the world. Either the PreSale phase is much longer, or the promo card will be rarer than before.
Up to now, with 3 million packs in total, I assumed a presale phase of a maximum of 500,000 packs. But who knows maybe it will be 1 million again.
Either way, I assume that the key of 1:50 packs will not be exceeded.
So 300 packs should be enough for my Gold Deck.
Was ist mit Bonuspacks?
Hier gehe ich von der gleichen Staffel aus wie zuvor bei Chaos Legion.
So gesehen, wäre es gut, wenn ich mindestens 500 Packs kaufen könnte, um die 15 % Bonuspacks abgreifen zu können.
What about bonus packs?
Here I assume the same tranches as before with Chaos Legion.
From that perspective, it would be good if I could buy at least 500 packs to be able to grab the 15% bonus packs.
Was kann ich finanzieren?
Wenn der PreSale im September startet habe ich definitiv genügend Voucher um 500 Packs + 75 Bonuspacks zu kaufen. Zumindest wenn wir von 1 Voucher pro Pack ausgehen.
An der SPS Front sieht es leider anders aus.
Ich habe noch 8.051 SPS gestaked. Von denen ich plane 3.000 SPS einzusetzen.
Darüber hinaus habe ich ca. 1.750 SPS in diversen Liquidity Pools (Swap.Hive:SPS und SPS:DEC) eingebracht, um weitere SPS zu farmen und etwa 200 SPS liquide.
Insgesamt sind also knapp 5.000 SPS zum derzeitigen Preis im Wert von 360 $ verfügbar.
Selbst bei einem Kursanstieg auf 0,1 $ pro SPS sind das grade mal 100 Packs zum derzeitigen Zeitpunkt.
Ich bin aber bereit nochmals 1.000 € zuzuschießen, was nach Umwandlung in SPS etwa 200 Packs entsprechen sollte.
Darüber hinaus habe ich noch weitere Liquidity Pools, die ich auflösen kann und bis zum Presale vergehen noch ein paar Wochen.
Ich sollte also in der Lage sein ca. 350 - 400 Packs im September aus eigener Kraft zu kaufen.
What can I finance?
When the PreSale starts in September I will definitely have enough vouchers to buy 500 packs + 75 bonus packs. At least if we assume 1 voucher per pack.
On the SPS front, unfortunately, it looks different.
I still have 8,051 SPS staked. Of which I plan to use 3,000 SPS.
In addition, I have about 1,750 SPS in various liquidity pools (Swap.Hive:SPS and SPS:DEC) to farm more SPS and about 200 SPS liquid.
So in total there are just under 5,000 SPS available at the current price worth $360.
Even with a price increase to $0.1 per SPS, that's just about 100 packs at this point.
However, I am willing to add another 1,000 €, which should correspond to about 200 packs after conversion into SPS.
In addition, I have other liquidity pools that I can liquidate and there are still a few weeks until the presale.
So I should be able to buy about 350 - 400 packs in September on my own.
Was ist nun mein Ziel?
Wenn ich mir die Antworten auf die 3 obigen Fragen anschaue, komme ich zu dem Schluss, dass ich eigentlich mindestens 500 Packs kaufen müsste, um
- mein Deck einigermaßen mit Riftwatchers für die Goldliga vorzubereiten
- ich die 15 % Bonuspacks mitnehmen kann
Wenn meine Schätzungen zur Promokarte korrekt sind, sollte ich mindestens 300 Packs kaufen.
Ich kann etwa 350 - 400 Packs finanzieren.
Wer kauft mit?
Ich möchte trotzdem 500 Packs kaufen, um die 15 % Bonus mitzunehmen.
Wenn ich nicht noch mehr neues Geld investieren möchte, als oben beschrieben bleibt dafür nur eine Möglichkeit.
Ich benötige einen oder mehrere Partner.
Wenn also jemand auch plant Riftwatchers Packs zu kaufen und keine 500 Packs schafft, bin ich gerne bereit die Packs für diese Person zu kaufen und ihr so (genügend Voucher vorausgesetzt) die Bonuspacks zukommen zu lassen.
Natürlich werden auch die Promo und späteren Airdropkarten entsprechend weitergereicht, sofern diese klar zugeordnet werden können (ganze BCX erreicht).
Promos und Airdropkarten, die nicht genau zugeordnet werden können, würde ich unter allen Packs verlosen.
Somit gäbe es keinen Nachteil gegenüber einem direkten Kauf bei Splinterlands.
Ich möchte für den Service keine Gebühr. Mir geht es nur um den besseren Bonus durch die höhere Anzahl an Packs.

What is my goal now?
Looking at the answers to the 3 questions above, I come to the conclusion that I would actually need to buy at least 500 packs in order to
- prepare my deck for the Gold League with Riftwatchers to some extent
- I can take the 15% bonus packs with me
If my promo card estimates are correct, I should buy at least 300 packs.
I can fund about 350 - 400 packs.
Who is buying?
I still want to buy 500 packs to take the 15% bonus with me.
If I don't want to invest even more new money than described above, there is only one way to do it.
I need one or more partners.
So if someone is planning to buy Riftwatchers Packs and doesn't manage 500 packs, I'm willing to buy the packs for this person and give him the bonus packs (provided he has enough vouchers).
Of course, the promo and later airdrop cards will also be passed on accordingly, as long as they can be clearly assigned (whole BCX reached).
Promos and airdrop cards that cannot be assigned exactly, I would raffle among all packs.
So there would be no disadvantage compared to a direct purchase at Splinterlands.
I don't want a fee for the service. I am only interested in the better bonus due to the higher number of packs.

Schöner Beitrag! Muss mir nochmal dazu Gedanken machen. Bin mir nicht Mal sicher ob ich überhaupt Packs kaufe oder doch lieber direkt die Karten von der engine kaufe.
Bisher wurde alles nach dem pre sale relativ günstig. Warum sollte sich das nicht wiederholen?

Das vllt nicht, aber günstiger als die Karten hauptsächlich aus Packs zu beziehen, kann ich mir gut vorstellen
Das kann gut sein, aber irgendwer muss den Laden ja finanzieren 🤣
Außerdem sind es umgerechnet auf die Anzahl der Karten im Set weniger als bei CL, könnte also laufen wie bei UNTAMED bzw. DICE

Eine wirklich nützliche Zusammenfassung. Aktuell halte ich rund 14k SPS, aber beim heutigen Kurs werde ich keine Packs kaufen. Vielleicht im General Sale, sofern der SPS Kurs deutlich steigt.
Bei den Vouchern hoffe ich auf einen Ordentlichen Preissprung. Wobei es mittlerweile auch recht viele davon gibt.
Vieles liegt noch im Nebel, aber wir werden wohl bald mehr wissen :D

Der Zeitpunkt von RW ist für mich echt beschissen. Früher oder Später würde ich sicher ein paar hundert Euro reinschieben. Wenn ich kein frisches Geld investieren will, habe ich nur die Möglichkeit alle SPS aus den Pools zu nehmen und die Staked SPS komplett zu unstaken. Dann würde es für ca. 60 Packs reichen. Könnte dann aber keine Turniere mehr spielen 😞.
Werde mir noch Gedanken darüber machen und mich ggf. melden, falls du die 500 bis dahin nicht voll hast.
