This time around is a little crazy for me, I don’t use the Dragon Splinter much, I just do not have the cards for it, but it does become my focus, so when I do get to use the dragon, it gets interesting!

The big thing about the Dragon splinter is that you use it, but then you use another splinter at the same time, so there gets to be some very interesting combinations on this one! That is the big plus with the dragon splinter, the ability to use everything, but at the same time, it can make it very difficult because of all the choices, let’s dig into this one!

The battle that we are examining for this one is a higher mana cap at 44, with the Water, Light, Death, and Dragon splinters available. The rulesets are:

Healed Out: All healing abilities are removed from Monsters and Summoners.
Lost Legendaries: Legendary Monsters may not be used in battles.

This ruleset kind of plays to my advantage, mostly because I do not have a ton of dragon cards, where many of the really great ones, are legendary, and the healed out, makes it a quicker, but a difficult battle at the same time.

Here is the quick link to the battle: (Link however, I will break it down, then you might want to watch again.

First up, the Summoner:

Knowing it is the Dragon splinter, I use the Splinterlands Marketplace to rent the summoner I need, since I do not own a Dragon summoner. I love to use the Byzantine Kitty when I have a Dragon fight. The Kitty might not look like a dragon, but look in the eyes and you see it on the inside! The +2 to speed is amazing, as it helps you go faster along with being able to dodge a little more. Another ability of the kitty is the Tank Heal ability, which does not come into play in this one due to the Healed Out rule set. The last ability is what I was looking for in this line up, True Strike, it means that you team will always hit their attacks. Since I chose the Life Splinter, I needed to make sure that my ranged attackers were going to hit.

The front line was Djinn Chwala:

Using the dragon splinter Djinn Chwala is amazing, high health, high armor, along with thorns, so when they get hit by a melee attack the attacker takes 2 damage, a great way to whittle the team down!

I followed Chwala up with another one of my favorite cards, Djinn Renova, the magic damage is nice, but I was also looking for the Strengthened ability, which gives all of my team an extra health, very important for a no healing rule set.

Next up comes another favorite Light splinter card, the Pelacor Arbalest:

A great card to pair with the kitty, the double strike means 4 damage a round, but with true strike, it also means that they will hit all the time!

Next up comes one of my favorite blast cards:

I really like the Prismologist, the 3 damage, a little bit of armor, and then blast, so she does damage not only to the target, but to the card behind the target as well, another great way to whittle down the enemy.

Then we have another magic user, the Magi of Chaos

I just recently started using this card more, 2 speed, 5 health, and 2 magic damage, just a solid card.

Last, comes the Xenith Archer

This one was more of a filler card for me, I had 2 mana left, but I also wanted to protect my back line a little bit from sneak attackers, so this one got the bill.

Did my strategy work, yes it did, very well actually, the Xenith Archer did it’s job to protect the line, Chwala did a good job of staying alive just long enough to do some damage. Then the true strike along with the amount of damage I was putting out, worked well. The other player was using the kitty as well, I was kind of scared to see it, I didn’t know if my strategy would work, but I had the line up right, along with strengthen from Renova, a poof, I win!

The Dragon splinter is a fun lineup to play with, but at that same time, it does take some investment, so I hope to be playing more of it in the future when I pull some of the cards I need from some packs!

Overall, this was a really good battle for me, and when you are watching a battle, you always need some Pizza! If you are looking for a great area of Positivity along with a great community, com join the Pizza Family!
