A Dragon Battle Worth Sharing!
Hello everyone, hope you are fine!
This is my second entry for this week's challenge. First time that I am submitting a second entry. Like I said in my previous post,
I am really enjoying playing with the Dragon Splinter and finally had a battle which I felt was worth sharing.
The Lineups
It was a 32 mana battle with 'Stampede' as the ruleset. I had rented a Gold Foil Rexxie for this very purpose and have used it many times in Stampede battles, but it had never really worked as I had hoped it would. This battle was different. It went exactly as I imagined it would!
As before, I chose Delwyn Dragonscale as my summoner as he is the only level 4 summoner I have who can summon a level 4 Rexxie. So I chose the Earth Splinter to help me by default, which has a lot of other cool monsters too.
In the tank position, I obviously placed the Rexxie as I wanted to make full use of him. As I said, this was a rented Gold foil Rexxie, so he had the Trample ability.
In the second position I had Spirit Shaman. His Divine Shield ability is pretty handy to stop a 'Stampede'.
Next, I placed the Dragon Magic Monster Gloridax Magus. Magic with 'Blast' ability with Delwyn is an awesome combo!
Next up, Earth Splinter’s high life monster- Centauri Mage, with magic attack and 'Return Fire' ability. The high life would help in mitigating any more tramples from the enemy.
I next went for a Dragon Monster again. The Serpentine Mystic, magic with 'Affliction' at a low mana cost. Pretty awesome if you ask me.
And it is always good to round up your attack with a Furious Chicken if there is space available. I did and so the chicken is included too.
My opponent chose the Life Splinter with Mother Khala as the summoner and monsters being Clay Golem, Silvershield Knight, Feral Spirit, Elven Cutthroat, Cave Slug and Mantoid.
I recommend that you watch the video of the battle to understand how good the trample ability can work in this rule set. This was the first time I experienced it and it was a spectacle to watch. Images will definitely not serve justice to the demonstration of Trample ability and
Stampede rule set. Here's the video:
I believe the key in this battle was using the monster with 'Trample' ability in the line up and the Trample truly never ended once it kicked in and it was a Stampede indeed!
I love the Dragon Splinter for all the reasons I mentioned in my previous post. In addition to the awesome monsters in the Splinter, the summoners are even more valuable. The legendary summoner like Camila Sungazer can be used to summon slightly higher level monsters from the Dragon and other Splinters too. I know this is possible with other legendary summoners too but right now, Camila Sungazer is the least expensive legendary summoner in the market.
