Wood Nymph || Splinterlands Art Contest Week 208!

Hello all... Greetings...

It's another round of the @splinterlands art contest and this my participation post. I created something inspired by the card and I want to show you how I made it. Read on👌

For this week I chose a common card in the Earth unit - Wood nymph. I chose this one because I Iove her dress,the relaxed look and cute little smile on her face is contagious. That's how you look when you're surrounded by nature🤗

Wood nymphs existed in a tiny bud on the tips of the highest branches of an Elder tree. The strange bud kept growing in size for days and eventually burst open and the nymphs were scattered all over the place...

PROCESS

First,I made a quick sketch of what I hand in mind. Face and eyes up like she's lost in nature's beauty, cute little smile, relaxed mood and hands on chest. I hate drawing hands but I decided to stop running away from it and it doesn't look too bad😶

I started by painting all the base colours for skin, hair and clothes. I used the gradient tool to add colours to her clothes, I love the effect it gives.

I then turned off the sketch layer and focused on painting her brows, eyes without the eyeballs, lashes, nose and mouth. It looks so flat at this point, nothing interesting 🤷

Down to painting my favourite part, this where it all comes alive. No more flat look, highlights makes a huge difference no doubt. I added both lighter and darker skin tones and she looks good at this point....

The skin looks perfect and okay but the hair lacked details so I worked on the hair. Added more stands and brighter colours and it looked good but is it good enough? We'll see🌼

Then to the clothes, it didn't look good to me so I painted more darker colours to make it stand out. I added a little bit of white where necessary, I also tried to add the colour of the clothing from the original art. I aso painted her eyeballs at this point and I chose blue because I love blueeee🎨

I painted the two flowers and attached a string and a smaller flower at the center, makes it look like a flower jewellery and I love it.😅 I added a bit of glow to her hair and skin.

This is the final piece with everything intact, what do you think? I love it and I'm sure you do🥰
