A new week, greetings to all Splinters Warriors in the community.......

We are in a new week and I feel excellent for participating in a new challenge sponsored by @Splinterlands and of course by our beloved warrior @carrieallen. I am grateful to the whole team of the game especially to @Carrieallen, for encouraging us all to participate in the community and make this game much more incredible than it already is.

Now, commenting a little about what is the challenge of this week and the card I must use called "Captain Ghost", again I was surprised, I do not have my Water Splinter in a good level, however, it is one of my favorite teams of the game, because I love the cards that have magic attack, they are my favorites and I use them very often, it is great that these cards come in the vast majority of cases directly to the health of our opponents' cards.

Before giving the detail of what my battle was, I will first describe a little what this card "Captain Ghost" is and what abilities it has.

Let's talk about the "CAPTAIN GHOST" and your skills

This is one of the new monsters added to the game under the bounty edition, a very useful and powerful "Rare" type rarity card, with a powerful magical attack at only its level 1 and a skill I like to use very much in my strategies which is "Affliction", which somehow poisons the rival card preventing its health from recovering. If you ask me this is great, many players in a big percentage use this kind of monsters in their strategies, so it is very good to counteract the "Heal and Tank Heal" skills.

At higher levels, you get one of the new skills also added to the game recently called "Oppress", which causes double the health damage to cards that have no attack, a clear danger to tanks like "Lord Arianthus" for example. Pata terminar, in general lines is a very good addition to the Water Splinter and although it is a card for high mana battles, it can adapt to different types of rules working perfectly of frontal attack and at the same time defending with "Affliction" preventing the recovery of its monsters.

Time for Battle

line2.png

The time came for my battle, this one was very special and exciting, since my opponent clearly had higher level cards in his field, very powerful melee cards that easily surpassed mine, however, due to my game strategy, I was able to be victorious. Basically, I placed two good tanks in the front so they could withstand the attacks followed by my opponent's cards, in the center of my team, I placed a magic attack trio, to directly hit the health of his monsters and at the end a great card of my favorites, with the ability to halve the attack of the monster that tries his range attack.

Rules of my battle

line2.png

  • Mana: 38
  • Equalizer: A very easy rule to understand, but which can be difficult to coordinate with some of our Splinters' cards. This is because, all cards gain the same amount of health as the most alive monster in the field, so if we think strategically about how to take advantage of this rule, we should take into account monsters with less life, but with lethal abilities for certain formations.
  • Melee Mayhem: Another very easy rule to understand, this one works in a very simple way, basically all the monsters with melee attack, will attack the tank of the enemy in question. So, what players commonly think is to use these types of monsters in order to give a coordinated and fulminating attack to defeat their enemy, but this doesn't work at all this way.

My Team

line2.png

Alric Stormbringer
My chosen summoner for this battle, although he didn't have many options, like my Delwyn Dragonscale, for example, but the Dragon Splinter was blocked, so I had no choice but to use my Alric. When I saw the battle rules while looking for the ideal fight for my challenge, I wanted to try a new formation against the "Melee Mayhem" rule, this way in the 2 minutes to choose my team, I thought about taking advantage of the second "Equalizer" rule to use low life monsters and also with my Alric, increase the attack power of my magic cards.
Fronzen Soldier
Automatically when I saw the rules of battle, I thought about using a monster with the ability of "Shield" so I used my "Fronzen Soldier", so I could take some hits from my opponent's melee cards, also thanks to one of my opponent's cards that had 10 life points, all my cards and my Soldier got the same amount so this would give me enough time for my central faces to attack.
Sea Monster
I couldn't leave all the hard work to my "Soldier", so, in my strategy, I immediately thought about his replacement for when my tank was defeated, this is when my "Sea" fits perfectly, because, thanks to his great attacking power, he would also allow me to cause damage to my opponent's tank and additionally serve as a defense so that the rest of my cards would continue to attack and of course his "Heal" ability would also give me the necessary time to do so.
Captain Ghost
The first card of the magic attack trio that I thought of, in order to defeat all of my opponent's cards faster, of course, I also counted on his intrinsic ability "Affliction" to help me in case my opponent used a monster with the ability "Heal or Tank Heal" and counter it. Finally, his great attack power of 3 points thanks to my Alric would help me achieve my goal.
Spirit Miner
The second card of my magic attack trio, a very good card with a great attack power, also of 3 points, which would be 6 in total counting my "Captain", my objective with this one is that it will also help in the attack and in addition in such case that my first cards fell to battle by the melee attacks of my opponent's monsters, with its ability "Dodge" it gave me a little but of time so that my last two cards could continue attacking and winning.
Sea Genie
The third card of the magic attack trio, completing a deadly attack of a total of 9 points directly to the health of my opponent's cards. In addition to this his ability to "Fly", would also allow him to dodge in such case some melee attacks of my opponent, although his speed would not help at all in this sense, but really did not need, since each card up to this point, fulfilled perfectly its roll, giving me the victory.
Halfling Alchemist
The last card of my formation and one of the most important in my team, due to its great skill called "Halving", which reduces by half the attack of all the monsters that it manages to hit directly. In addition to this, the Equalizer battle rule played a very important role in my victory, and it is for this reason that my Alchemist resisted and was able to make my other cards withstand more attacks and win.

Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?

line2.png

My strategy worked better than I really expected, since I basically experienced a new formation that would counteract the "Melee Mayhem" rule and help me defeat every melee monster my opponent used, without me using many of these monsters at once, because if I used them, I would have surely lost because of the difference in level of our cards and their speed.

That's why I tried something very different than usual, proving this way that many times it's not about the level of the cards you have, but how you use correctly each card in your arsenal. All my level 1 cards, could against level 3 and 4 cards, for this reason I commented that this challenge was very special for me.

Do you use CAPTAIN GHOST often? Why or why not?

line2.png

If I had already used it in some of my strategies, the magical attack is one of my favorites because of the direct damage it causes, so Captain Ghost, was won as soon as it came out, a place in my formations with the Water Splinter. Later what I liked was to counteract the health recovery of the cards used by my opponents.

Whoa! Awesome battle!
I would have totally skipped watching this (at first) cause you were so outleveled... then to find I'd won?! I watched this on slow-mo.
I think your Alchemist really was the star. Him being able to several of your opponents attacks in half gave your buddies more time to kill them.

Awesome.

Captain's Ghost didn't do much. 😂 But hit when he should have, so overall, a great teammate.

Great post!
