Splinterlands - Fire Spitter (Weekly Battle)

This week's battle monster of choice is the Fire Spitter. I like using it a lot since my favorite splinter is dragon. Below is a battle I had with the use of the Fire Spitter.

Formations

The battle is limited with 19 mana and with rule sets Heavy Hitters and Keep your Distance. There is also a limit in only three out of six splinters to use which at the time were fire, death, and dragon. I decided to go with dragon as my lowest mana summoner while not having melee related ability. Inferno was +1 melee while Mortalis was -1 melee so I do not use either of them. Kretch Tallevor would be what I go with as it has no melee ability. With that I focus with death mixed with Fire Spitter. My focus would be magic monsters in Phantom, Shadowy Presence, Furious Chicken, and Screaming Banshee with a end at Fire Spitter.

My opponent in similar fashion goes with dragon splinter mix with death splinter. They start with Shadowy Presence follow up with Furious Chicken, Undead Priest, Haunted Spider, Scale Doctor, and end with Twister Jester. In very similar setup both of our formations at first glance appear to be be equals and even level of monsters made it so.

Battle Results

By the end of the first round my opponent's Shadowy Presence is knocked out. While my entire formation still intact.

As the battle progresses it comes down to my Naga that withstands range attack and essentially holds off my opponent from advancing.

As the battle progress it was clear I had chosen the better tanker in Phantom Soldier. To that degree by middle of round 3 the formations were 4 against 3 and all three of my opponent's monsters were range which meant they were handicap at the front with lack of attack.

It would take a couple more rounds to take out all my opponent's monsters but in true form my Phantom held up while Fire Spitter assisted in knocking out my opponent.

Conclusions

My Phantom Soldier at level 3 was truly the key to my victory as it held up all the way to end of battle. Interesting enough my Fire Sitter also survived and assisted in battle by design. Fire Spitter's high health manage help in taking blows and its 3 range attack at level 3 was also making a worthy offense monster. All in all I like my formation in the battle and it prove upgrading the Phantom and Fire Spitter to level 3 was definitely helpful.

Well done on the battlefield.
So you forgot to remove the part from your Naga Fire Wizard post, right?
I got confused there, LOL.

Keep on battling.
