Nerissa is a proud warrior of the water. Armed with her enchanted trident, she defends the seas, the rivers, and the lakes. She is well known across coastal villages, and they often call on her for help. She has slain great sea beasts that would otherwise kill everyone in their path. She has rescued sailors from hurricanes, and even warned villages of incoming tsunamis to save lives. Her bravery and brilliance in battle have led to her being called Nerissa the Hurricane.

Nerissa was born and raised by the ocean, and could swim before she could walk. She always felt the sea called to her. And within her it stirred a deep magic. An ancient mana of tides and waves. Nerissa answered the call, and travels between the continents of the Splinterlands.

When settlers and explorers made their way to Praetoria, Nerissa was there to help with every step of the journey. But the blight that gripped the land worried her deeply. Its corruption spread into the waters that she loved so dearly. She often caught herself crossing paths with Igor the Finback and his tribe of Trench Dwellers. Each time she had to pull back or risk all of them attacking her at once.

When Nerissa learned of the deeper plot of the Chaos Legion, she vowed to defend Praetoria and its inhabitants with her life.

Nerissa Tridawn belongs to one of my favorite Splinter, which is the Water, because they have so much damage and protection that makes it very difficult to my opponent to prepare against. There are so many amazing monsters there to create a team setup is huge. 😊

I have only one copy of her and unfortunately I am forced to rent her on higher Levels if I want to use her to strengthen my team. Currently she is well worth to rent, because her damage output is so big that no one can ignore that!

This week's battle challenge features the Nerissa Tridawn, so let's see her stats and abilities on all levels. 😁

Frame_stats_crushed_edge.png

There is not much to talk about Nerissa Tridawn abilities, because she doesn't have any. Her true power is that her damage output and stats! She cost 9 mana and she is an EPIC card from the Chaos Legion set, so she will be around for quite some time in the future. 😊

Her most impressive "ability" is that she has 3 Magic 🔮 damage on her first three Levels, which is already super amazing, but on Level 4 and 5 she will receive another damage up to 5 on her last Level, which is six.

There is not much to say here, because if you ahve a mana cap over 30 I always try to include her in my backline as her 9+ Health ❤️ allows her to sustain a lot of incoming damage from Sniper or Sneaker creatures. 😁

RulesetDescription
CounterspellAll Monsters have the Magic Reflect ability.
Odd Ones OutOnly Monsters with odd Mana costs may be used in battles.

The following battle that I would like to share has the Counterspell ruleset, which is quite bad for any Magic attack creature, but my Nerissa was able to deal significant damage before she died. 😌

My lineup and the decision behind it!

Summoner
Kelya Frendul

image.png

Kelya became one of the most popular and strongest hero in the Chaos Legion set. Lux Vega released muc later and she is a bit better, but her price is 10 times more at least. I love Kelya because he gives +1 speed and +1 armor to all of his friendly creatures, which is excellent to outspeed my opponent monsters and to get an extra layer of protection against any incoming melee or ranged damage. 😇

diablo_divider_no1_water.png

Main Tank
Legionnaire Alvar

image.png

The Legionnaire Alvar cost 9 mana, which comes handy in the Odd Ones Out ruleset. Alvar has a lot of Armor, which helps a lot to him to mitigate any incoming damage. The Demoralize ability is amazing, because it will remove 1 Melee ⚔️ damage from all of the enemy monsters. 😁

The mana cap is quite high in this battle, so there will be a good use of his Giant Killer ability as well, which will make double damage against monsters costing 10 or more mana like his Coeurl Lurker. 😅

Off-Tank and Reacher
Flying Squid

image.png

The Flying Squid is a perfect addition to any Kelya setup, because he has great Health. ❤️ Unfortunately he has only one Armor, which comes from Kelya as well. His greatness comes from the fact that he has the Reach ability from Level 1, which allows him to attack from the second position and behind from his main tank.

His speed is excellent and on Level 6 he receives the Blind ability, which will provide +15% chance of evading against any incoming melee ⚔️ and ranged 🏹 attacks from the enemy monsters. 😉

Damage Dealer
Coastal Nymph

image.png

I do not really use the Coastal Nymph in my battles, but I was scared to bring more Magic 🔮 attack creatures, because they will kill themselves. The Nymph is a Ranged 🏹 attack monster and she has an amazing damage of four. The only issue with her is her Scattershot ability, which will make her to target a random enemy monster in each round. 😵

diablo_divider_no1_water.png

Damage Dealer
Axemaster

image.png

The Axemaster is in the top 3 best damage dealer in the Water Splinter. 💪 His Double Srike ability enables him to attack twice in every round and deal 2 x 3 damage on Level 3, which is a lot of damage to destroy any kind of threat front of him. He has quite a high Speed 👟, which will support him well to secure a hit on his enemies. ☠️

I always try to include him into my teams and without him the Water Splinter would not be as powerful as it is now. 😊

diablo_divider_no1_water.png

Poisonous Sneaker
Uraeus

image.png

The Uraeus is a great card, because he can quickly remove the high damage backline from my opponent team thanks to his Sneak ability. On Level 4 he receives Poison, so all of his attacks have a chance to apply poison, which does automatic damage to the target at the beginning of each round after the poison is applied. 🤢 (It will be 2 damage in every end of the round.)

The Poison ability is triggered 50% of the time. Poison does damage at the end of the turn and is not affected by shield or void.

Backline Protector and Damage Dealer
Nerissa Tridawn

image.png

In a normal battle without the Counterspell ruleset Nerissa will dominate the battle as she always does, but even now she was able to damage my opponent monsters three times for nine damage before she died. Unfortunately the Magic Reflect didn't spare her as she damaged herself for three damage (because of the Amplifiy on the Venari Heatsmith) per round, still she stood firm at the end of my backline. 😉

In this battle I faced against one of the most expensive summoner in the game, which is Lux Vega. She has similar abilities than Kelya, but she gives one extra Health ❤️ to all of her friendly creatures and she will cost one more mana than Kelya.

1️⃣ The first round was not mine at all and I didn't have any luck, because I missed her tank four times. 😲 At the end of turn one I even lost my Uraeus, because his Mordeus picked him up with his Opportunity ability.

2️⃣ I continued to be unlucky in the second round as well as I missed three times his tank again. Luckily Nerissa was keep damaging him even if they reflected back his own damage, but I had to remove that Coerl Lurker at all cost. 😠

3️⃣ In the third round finally we have removed his tank and we could start killing his weaker monsters. My opponent used the Frogotten One as an off-tank, which made me to lose my Nerissa and Alvar in this round.

Things weren't looking good and here is snapshot from the battle at this stage to show you what I mean.

image.png

4️⃣ I wouldn't bet a lot on my Victory if I have to judging this picture. 😂 In the fourth round luck became my friend and my opponent monsters missed my monsters 4 times! Luckily karma works well and I was able to remove his Forgotten One by the end of this round. 😎

5️⃣-6️⃣ The fifth and sixth round was mine as well as my opponent missed me twice again, which gave me a huge chance to finish off the rest of his monsters. 😁

Luck 🍀 means a lot in this game and it can easily turn the tide to any side in the battle you just need to make sure you are standing on the right side. 😂
