Battling with Spikeback Turrtle #Splinterlands #play2earn
I have to confess, I've never really used Spikeback Turtle, and I wasn't sure what to make of him. This is despite the Water Splinter being my favourite place to play! I rented the turtle for 1 day at level 4, so I could get access to his thorns ability.
Ruleset: 50 Mana, Poison.
Strategy: Placing Spikeback Turtle at the front, using River Nymph to clear his poison. River Hellondale was in the term to revive Spikeback Turtle, if he were to die first. I put in Sea Monster in a middle position, as he self-heals to negate the poison effect. I played Djinn Oshannus and Nerida Tridawn as high health and high attack characters to be able to rip through my opponents defence.
Let's have a look at how the battle went:
Reflections on the battle:
I found Spikeback Turtle very soft in the tank position; I think the ruleset played against him. I can imagine in a 4 mana or less battle he would be very good, but in this battle, he was cast aside without having any impact. This battle was won by the depth in my water team; had I played my usual tank Diemonshark, my win would have been more dominant.
