Welcome to Splinter-Chat with LordTimoty! This is a post about one of my favourite subjects; Splinterlands! I hope you'll get comfy, and take a few minutes with me to discuss the #Splinterlands community

This topic is actually really important, you see, I had been trying to find a game to sink my teeth into for about 6-12 months. It had been probably 18 months since I'd last committed to a game - and the thing I was chasing was community. I didn't want a login-logout talk to no one kind of experience.

Thank You Splinterlands.gif

I guess you could say then, that this post is really about gratitude. I want to take a minute to hold up the Dalai Llama guild - which in truth, is actually two guilds - Dalai Llamas and Alpaca Punch. Both guilds are ranked around 100-150. They're both competitive and place well in brawls. They both have strong members and I think a really solid reputation. It was a bit of a ? for me when I first joined, I was hesitant. My previous guild had a 500 DEC entry fee, and that turned out to be a waste of payment. This guild was asking 1000 DEC entry fee. I was nervous with putting up so much of my hard earned - but when I asked about the guild, the answer was, 'It is worth it'.

I found the guild had a really organised discord setup. Both guilds interact as one, share advice and strategy, and I'm starting to get to know a bit more about where people are from and their lives. The guild also introduced me to PeakD and I'm loving a good blog - not only has my foray into this space led me to the Splinterlands community here, but I've also been teaching myself to make 3speak videos and .GIFs (The ones in this post took a while to make, but now I can do them really quick - and I reckon they look great. How's that, a game teaching me design skills?)

I guess then, that leads us to the final thought: Would I be playing and investing money in this game without the community? Nope -
Everyone is different, as is every guild - but I am so surprised that a lot of the people I encounter in ranked battles are guild-less. To them, I say, take a chance - it's worth it.

So to draw this post to an end point, to everyone attached to the Dalai Llamas, and the wider Splinterlands community, please know, that I'm grateful to be a part of this ride with you all.

Until next time, good luck rangling the rankings, battling the brawls and curating content.
