Welcome to Splinter-Chat with LordTimoty! This is a post about one of my favourite subjects; Splinterlands! I hope you'll get comfy, and take a few minutes with me to explore this week's 'SHARE YOUR BATTLE Challenge, which is all about the Feral Spirit.

So let's get underway by having a closer look at the little fella:

I used to use Feral Spirit all the time when I first started playing Splinterlands, he was part of the Starter Pack and I loved playing in the LIFE splinter. I have fond memories of how he can be potent in winning games.

He's not a bad sneak attack character, and ideally you would get him as a level 4 in order to maximise your attack. Unfortunately, I don't have a summoner that will allow me to go past L1.

However, that was OK, it meant I was able to pick up a cheap rental to re-unite myself with this cuddly critter!

To start off, I noticed that my opponent has a love of using Bortus (Water splinter). I knew straight away that I didn't want to play magic and go -1 magic on my cards, so I thought I would try Feral Spirit and a melee attack - using Lorna Shine to get longevity out of my cards!

So, strategically - I put Legionairre Alvar out front. My opponent likes Magic, so I used this card because Magic hits his armour before his health. I think followed up with the Ooze, in order to try and get the speed advantage. I played two SNEAK monsters (including the Feral Spirit). I like using Sneak attacks in tandem, with the intention of ripping through my opponents back line.

Here is a video showing the battle play out. It didn't quite go to plan:

Outcome:
In the end, I thought I had a competitive strategy, but my opponent played some very strong cards, and as soon as my tank fell, the battle was lost. The speed of his tank meant I missed a number of hits, which may also have turned the battle. If I was being fair, I probably got the rule-set wrong. Rather than playing my Feral Spirit in a 20-30 mana battle, he would do far better in a 12-15 mana encounter. A good lesson to learn!

Until next time, good luck rangling the rankings, battling the brawls and curating content.
