4. River Nymph - Magic Damage Dealer with the Cleanse ability
5. Kulu Swimhunter - Ranged Damage Dealer
6. Angelic Mandarin - Ranged Damage Dealer
Strategy:
The combination of Noxious Fumes and Little League limits the possible strategies quite a bit. I decided to choose mostly high health Monsters and abilities like Heal and Cleanse to get rid of as much poison damage as possible.
Position 1 - Cruel Sethropod:
Probably one of the best Little League or low mana tanks with 4 HP and 4 Armor at level 4.
Position 2 - Tide Biter:
Easy choice for this position. The Tide Biter can attack thanks to the Reach ability.
Position 3 - Xenith Monk:
The Monk gains the very important Heal ability at level 2. That allows him to survive the Noxious Fumes ruleset, because every Round he heals himself for the 2 damage he takes. That is the reason I placed him in the middle of my line-up.
Position 4 - River Nymph:
The Cleanse ability can't hurt in a Noxious Fumes ruleset. At least 1 Monster less afflicted with poison can make the difference.
Position 5 - Kulu Swimhunter:
High HP and decent damage. Since it is a ranged damaged dealer it is in the back, so it can attack as long as possible.
Position 6 - Angelic Mandarin:
Higher HP but only 1 damage, that is why I placed the Mandarin in the back. Better to lose 1 damage because of Sneak attacks than 2.
Round 1:
My opponent brings mostly level 1 Monsters and most of them have only 4 HP or less. That means I just need to survive 2 rounds then the Noxious Fumes ruleset will kill of most of the opponents team. No Monster goes down in this round.
Round 2:
The poison ticks for the first time at the start of this round, no one dies but everyone's HP is reduced dramatically.
Round 3:
At the start of this round the Noxious Fumes ruleset takes its toll mostly on the opponent team taking out everyone except for the Angelic Mandarin. On the other hand 3 of my Monster survive.
Final Round:
Xenith Monk delivers the final hit securing my victory.
Result:
My strategy worked out fine. As I thought the Noxious Fumes ruleset combined with the low health of the max 4 mana Monsters was the biggest issue. Placing the somewhat high health and Monsters with poison countering abilities was the right way to go. Of course it helped that my Monsters had higher levels than the opponents.
At the moment I only use the Angelic Mandarin in very few and specific matches so I don't like it very much at the current level. The Triage and Silence abilities it gains at the higher levels are very interesting though. Once I've reached the higher tiers I might use it more often.
