Chaos Legion's Legendary cards Analysis #3: Grum Flameblade

This is my third post about the Chaos Legion's expansion Legendary cards, I created 6 different parameters to rate the cards, which I hope you will like, and I really hope to create an interesting discussion about them.
It is also the first time that I post on the #THGaming community to participate in this it's an interesting Posting Competition and I'm really excited.

As you know, time is money, so let's stop wasting time with the intro, and let's start analyzing the card: Grum Flameblade.

The parameters I chose are Versatility, Farmability, Growth, Combo, Price, and Base Stats.

If you missed my previous post where I analyzed the Fungus Fiend and Iza the Fanged, you can find it here.

Let's analyze:

Versatility: for this parameter, I chose a simple way, I'll consider the Rule sets, every Rule set where the Card is useful will give a point, then I'll calculate the % of positive Rule sets out of the total number of Rule sets.

The Grum Flameblade is useful (or at least Neutral) in 27 Rule Sets out of 33, so to calculate I use 27 : 33= X : 10.
X= 8.18 rounding up to 8.

Grum Flameblade's Versatility is 8.

If we consider a low Mana battle with the Reverse Speed Rule of Combat, for example, Grum Flameblade could win by itself versus a high number of decks, considering its abilities and stats.

Farmability: For this parameter, I considered the total number of cards printed, how many cards are on the market, and the Price. I didn't use a mathematical formula, I just considered the total number of printed cards at the moment: 17'330, the total number of cards on the market: 63, and the price/BCX around 5.50$, I gave the Grum Flameblade a negative vote because, despite the high number of printed cards, only a few of them are for sale and not at a really low price.

Grum Flameblade's Farmability is 5.

Considering the number of printed cards and the number of cards for sale...it's easy to understand that this is an interesting card.

Growth: For this parameter, I considered 1 point for every +1 in any stat and 2 points for every ability the card unlocks leveling up:

Schermata 2022-07-09 alle 15.42.28.png

Grum Flameblade's Growth is 10.

Well, this is a card that really improves its skills leveling up, and looking at the abilities alone, they really reflect the Grum Flameblades Lore.
If there's enough Mana to use it, a maxed Grum is devastating (if it doesn't miss), try to imagine using it with the Yodin Zaku Summoner for example.

Combo: To be honest this is the most difficult parameter to decide because there are a lot of different cards and a lot of differences between levels in Splinterlands and an infinite number of different combinations when we create a deck.

So I just considered Grum Flameblade's base stats and how they work with the Chaos Legion Cards, and if we think to Tarsa, the Fire Summoner, well, Grum becomes more resistant and more destructive thanks to Tarsa's +1 bonuses in Melee Attack and Health.

Schermata 2022-07-09 alle 18.22.33.png

Grum Flameblade's Combo is 9.

A really nice Summoner for Grum, that powers up its best stats.

oneup2.png

Price: This is a simple parameter to decide, I just consider Chaos Legion Legendaries cards, and if it is a Monster card or a Summoner card and I check the price.

Grum Flamblade's price is pretty average and the highest between Chaos Legion Legendary Fire cards:

Schermata 2022-07-09 alle 15.43.24.png

Grum Flameblade's Price is 6.

Probably in the future, considering the split between Modern and Wild format, the Price will increase, but I think we should wait to see the new Legendary Fire summoner to understand its future utilities.

oneup2.png

Base Stats: This parameter considers the Base card's stats.

Grum Flameblade has really high Base Stats, and in the beginning, I decided to give it a 10... but we have to consider its Mana cost, 11 is a really high Mana cost and it really starts to shine leveling up, so even if it is a great card judging from its base stats, I couldn't give it the second 10.

Grum Flameblade's Base Stats vote is 8.

And now let's see its final form:

As always I hope to create a discussion about this card, because the votes can't be really objective and I could have been too kind with it because I really like the card per see, so let me know what you think about it.

Best regards,
Magalli

Excellent post. I only really play GRUM in reverse speed battles or very high mana battles. I've got him as Lvl 1 though!

Thanks!

Yeah, the low speed is a high risk, but if Grum manages to kill at least one enemy, it becomes unstoppable.
But I write as a Silver III/II player, probably in higher leagues the low speed is a bigger problem.
