Splinterlands Art Contest Week 199 - Wizard of Eastwood.

What's up my people, how are you? I hope very very well and welcome once again to my art blog, today I come with a new participation for the #Splinterlands illustrations dynamic and I want to introduce you to The Wizard of Eastwood, a very interesting card with a story related to the field of magic, which rivals the other wizards of the forest. This wizard is dedicated to teaching new and skilled apprentices of magic to become the most powerful Summoners ever:

¿Qué pasa mi gente cómo están? Espero que muy muy bien y sean bienvenidos una vez más a mi blog de arte, el día de hoy vengo con una nueva participación para la dinámica de ilustraciones de #Splinterlands y les quiero presentar a El Mago de Eastwood, una carta muy interesante con una historia relacionada con el ámbito de la magia, el cual rivaliza con los demás magos del bosque. Este mago se dedica a enseñar a los nuevos y hábiles aprendices de la magia para volverlos los más poderosos Invocadores que hayan existido:

PROCESS / PROCESO

For this work I focused on building a character with a pose in which the wizard will be appreciated in its maximum splendor, as if he was preparing to perform a powerful invocation; I decided to draw him with his magic staff in his right hand with an intimidating expression. After finishing the sketch in the way I expected the next step in the process of my work was the painting of the Wizard's character, for this I started by applying a yellow base color for the character's skin; I tried to make the skin in a way in which slight wrinkles could be appreciated since this character is an adult man, almost old in my opinion.

Para esta obra me centré en construir un personaje con una pose en la cual se apreciará al hechicero en su máximo esplendor, como si se estuviera preparando para realizar una poderosa invocación; decidí dibujarlo con su báculo mágico en su mano derecha con una expresión intimidante. Luego de terminar el boceto de la manera que esperaba lo siguiente en el proceso de mi obra fue el pintado del personaje del Mago, para esto inicie aplicando un color amarillo base para la piel del personaje; trate de hacer la piel de una manera en la que se apreciaran ligeras arrugas puesto que este personaje es un hombre adulto, casi anciano a mi parecer.

After finishing with the skin and establishing the details of volume and wrinkles, I decided to paint the Wizard's clothing, this was something laborious and time consuming since the Wizard's clothing is composed of several pieces of clothing. I tried to do it in the same block, but each one in separate layers; for this I used shades such as navy blue, light green and a pasty green.

Luego de culminar con la piel y de establecer los detalles de volumen y arrugas fue allí donde decidí pasarme al pintado de la ropa o vestimenta del Mago, esto fue algo laborioso y demorado ya que la vestimenta del Mago está compuesta por varias prendas de ropa. Trate de hacerla en un mismo bloque, pero cada una en capas separadas; para esto use tonalidades como el azul marino, verde claro y un verde pastoso.

The next step was to paint the hair which curiously is also green, here I had to put a lot of effort because with so many shades of green I didn't want it to look so mixed, I wanted each one to look like an independent part; for this I applied a special layer mode in the hair painting to adjust a little the greens and make them look different. Finishing with the hair the next thing to continue painting was the magician's hat, for this I mixed a little olive green tones with a light brown.

El siguiente paso fue el del pintado del cabello que curiosamente también es de color verde, aquí si tuve que poner gran esfuerzo pues con tantas tonalidades verdes no quería que se viera tan mezcladas, sino que cada una se viera como un aparatado independiente; para esto aplique un modo de capa especial en el pintado del cabello para ajustar un poco los verdes y que se vieran diferente. Terminando con el pelo lo siguiente que continúe pintado fue el sombrero del mago, para esto mezcle un poco tonalidades verde oliva con un marrón claro.

Finished with the hat the next step was to give shape to the wizard's glasses, but I took advantage of this same layer to paint the magic necklace and also the wizard's staff; for the magic necklace I used a yellow as a base and then I was working with scales of colors to obtain a texture like golds that was realistic enough. Then for the painting of the staff I used many brown tones and then I decided to add a few gray and yellow tones, and it was thanks to this mixture of all these colors that I got a perfect wood texture for the staff and that left me quite satisfied with the result; finally I gave shape to the sphere in the center of the staff and for this I tried to make this sphere in the shape of an eye of some mythological creature.

Terminado con el sombrero el siguiente paso fue el de darle forma a los anteojos o lentes del mago, pero aproveche esta misma capa para pintar el collar mágico y también el báculo del mago; para el collar mágico use un amarillo como base y luego fui trabando escalas de colores para obtener una textura como de oros lo bastante realista. Luego para el pintado del Báculo use muchos tonos marrones y luego decidí agregar unos cuantos tonos grises y amarillos, y fue gracias a esa mezcla de todos esos colores que obtuve una textura de madera perfecta para el báculo y que me dejo bastante satisfecho con el resultado; ya finalmente le di forma a la esfera del centro del báculo y para esto trate de hacer esta esfera con forma como de un ojo de alguna criatura mitológica.

Finally, I decided to finish my drawing with a very special and unique background that would give thematic to my drawing, I wanted to try to transmit a kind of stormy background as if the magician was performing a summoning; for this I painted some dark clouds like a thunderstorm in the back in orange tone to give it a more personalized touch. After finishing with the clouds I also decided to add some lightning in black and gold; and for the final part I just applied a couple of layer effects to the sphere of the staff to give it a unique glow to give the impression that the summoning is being performed.

Finalmente, decidí terminar mi dibujo con un fondo bastante especial y único que diera temática a mi dibujo, quise tratar de transmitir una especie de fondo tormentoso como si el mago estuviera realizando una invocación; para esto pinte algunas nubes oscuras como de tormenta eléctrica en la parte de atrás en tonalidad naranja para darle un toque más personalizado. Luego de terminar con las nubes decidí también agregar algunos relámpagos en negro y dorado; ya para la parte final solo apliqué un par de efectos de capa a la esfera del báculo para darle un brillo único que diera la impresión que la invocación se esta ejecutando.
