Splinterlands - CENTAURI MAGE (Weekly Battle Post)

The Centauri Mage is a rewards card. I do not often use it but when I do it is usually for specific situations. Either a rule set that can give me an advantage or high mana match with earth splinter. Anyways the following battle is me using Centauri Mage to win a battle. Enjoy!

Battle Formations

The match was a limited 26 mana with rule sets earthquake and heavy hitters. I wanted to take advantage of the heavy hitter ability by making sure I use monsters that could hit in the first round but not have to be at the front of the formation. Therefore in my formation I start off with Nectar Queen, then Screeching Vulture, Centauri Mage, Wood Nymph, and finish off with Furious Chicken. All but Furious Chicken was strategic in that I would be able to take advantage of the rule sets. Furious Chicken was simply there to earn 5% DEC bonus if I win.

My opponent went with life splinter with the following formation, Shieldbearer, Luminous Eagle, Enchanted Pixie, and end with Gargoya Lion.

The advantage I have over my opponent was that all their monsters were only level 1 while I have all but my Centauri Mage level 3 or higher. In addition I have in total higher attack number than my opponent, 8 to 6.

Round 1

Not much changed between the formations at the end of round 1. What is worth noting is that Silverbearer is weaker and so was my Nectar Queen.

Round 2

My Furious Chicken was lost due to earth quake. Yet by end of the round opponent's Silverbearer is knocked out. The impression is me having the upper hand with a four to three monsters advantage.

Round 3

My Nectar Queen is actually at a higher health than in the start of the battle while my opponent's monsters had lower health overall.

Round 4

By the end of the fourth round my opponent has knocked out my Wood Nymph but my opponent are down to just Gargoya Lion. Both Luminous Eagle and Enchanted Pixie are knocked out.

Round 5 and 6

My opponent is knocked out by end of round 6. My Centauri Mage is knocked out due to earthquake while my Nectar Queen and Screeching Vulture were the lone survivors.

Conclusion

My Centauri Mage helped in the battle by assisting my Nectar Queen and Screeching Vulture. The earthquake rule set basically took out or assist in taking out all monsters that did not have flying ability. While the knockout ability help the high melee monsters to dominate in battle. The Centauri Mage could have been more useful if I had it level up more than level 1. However it still had a useful role in this battle. I can see the potentials of it in other battles and intend to level up my own Centauri Mage.
