Splinterlands - Fire Spitter (Weekly Post)
Somewhat surprise is Splinterland's focus on fire splinter as now it is another fire monster for weekly battle post. Anyways Fire Spitter is the card in focus for this week. I will be showing a battle I had using dragon splinter against another dragon formation and where I come out on top.
Battle Using Fire Spitter
Formations
The match was limited to 40 mana and rule set of even numbers only. Both opponent and I had a similar formation with tankers in Mech Goblin and then they had Chain Golem followed up with four monsters thare are able to attack in the first round. While I went with Manticore, Boogeyman, and end with three range monsters in Fire Spitter, Octopider, and Twisted Jester. The range monsters in combination would come in handy for a decent win for me.
Round 1
In the first round both of our Goblin Mechs took massive hits between formations but I came out with 1 health on my Goblin Mech while my opponent's Mech was knocked out.
Round 2
To my surprise my Goblin Mech's 1 life was able to withstand a few more plays in the second round as I was able to knock out my opponent's Chain Golem and Grim Reaper.
Round 3
It really took three rounds to defeat my opponent as my trio monsters with range took out my opponents last three monsters with ease.
Conclusions
The match at first glance appear to be even as both of us used dragon splinter and supplemented it with death monsters. However I actually had a lead on my opponent in that I had dragon monsters in my formation while my opponent did not. Basically they try to get an extra +1 melee in their formation but the speed of my range monsters were too much for them to handle.
The Fire Spitter worked exceptionally well with the remaining monsters as its speed was ahead of my opponent's monsters and having Octopider and Twisted Jester made it that much quicker to get the knock out. The three range monsters combined for a total of 10 points in range attack and with that not even Goblin Mech and Chain Golem could handle.
