Splinterlands - No Coral Wraith but Similar in Goblin Sorcerer? (Weekly Post)
As Untamed boosters are nearly out of print I have yet to collect many Untamed cards. This includes a Coral Wraith. I am still awaiting on investing in one but for now think I can compare this monster with a similar one in Goblin Sorcerer. Why? Goblin Sorcerer also has magic as its form of attack and the sneak ability. I have always found that sneak combine with magic hurts more than helps.
Battle Using Goblin Sorcerer
In the match to follow it will focus on my green splinter formation against a life splinter opponent. I had the upper hand in that most my monsters were at higher level, but still it would prove to be an interesting battle. The battle limited with 26 mana allowed and armor up and little league rule sets.
Formations
I started off with Biceratops followed up with Spirit Shaman, Wooden Nymph, Goblin Sorcerer, Swamp Thing, and closing with Earth Elemental. My opponent went with Baby Unicorn, followed by Feral Spirit, Truthspeaker, Divine Healer, Centaur, and closing with Peacebringer. Something worth noting the level of their monsters were mostly lower than mine other than Biceratops.
Round 1
After round one both sides remain fully intact. Not even the toughness on either side was knocked out.
Round 2
By end of round two both tankers were still alive but barely with health at 2 and 3 respectively. When these two tankers are knocked out it will not take much to have the remaining of the formations in full out knock out mode.
Round 3
As mentioned end of round 3 my opponent lost their Peacebringer and Baby Unicorn while my Biceratops was knocked out. Still I was in the lead with 5 versus 4 monsters.
Round 4
At the end of round 4 it was five against three monsters and I had the advantage. This seem to be a cake walk from here on.
Round 5
It would take a total of 6 rounds to beat out my opponent but clearly by end of five rounds I was to be victorious.
Conclusions
Magic attack monsters had the upper hand in this battle and my Goblin Sorcerer did its job by knocking out opponents from the rear up. What is also noticeable is that my Spirit Shaman was a decent tanker against low stats attacks.
To end this I do say if Goblin Sorcerer did not have sneak ability he would have knocked out the opponent slightly quicker as it would hit the front of the formation in combination with the rest of my formation. Still it was good enough for a win.
