Splinterlands - Predictions for 2023

A new year is upon us and I have been pondering what could come for Splinterlands in 2023. There are so many things going on that it just feels too obvious that the game will likely be able to get through the current crypto bear market a lot faster than anticipated. Here are my thoughts.

Link above is the official road map and progress updates from Splinterlands. I do think there are a lot more to be updated than what is posted but it’s a start to see what we can look forward in 2023.

As chaos wines down there is land expansion and potentially towers up and out before the next series of cards. Rebellion is the next phase of cards making likely a higher market cap of overall splinterlands nft. Of course there is the potential of price devaluation in existing cards making a shrinking market cap but overall value is still much higher than the games lows back almost two years ago. With demand still here and loyal followers that has been with the game I don’t believe we have much more room to fall in prices.

The riftwatcher cards have surprisingly held up in value even though it is the latest set of cards. I do believe the limited packs and higher initial cost is holding the nfts prices much better than other series. With that being said I won’t be surprised if splinterlands we deploy similar strategy come rebellion. They could potentially raise pack costs and limit the amount packs ever to be made that is lower than what Chaos has.

The biggest thing I think we have all been anticipating is the land expansion. Couple with other features such as land assets open markets there is a lot of potential to have big growth in market cap. The land expansion has totems and other interesting features to integrate into the game. If those who have forgotten playing land expansion main goal is the creation of cards that can help the gameplay. There could be a wide expansion of the gameplay with new cards beyond packs.
