Splinterlands - Tips on Completing Daily Quests...

One of the most common tasks needed to progress in Splinterlands is to complete the daily quest. Today's post we look at how to make completing quests easier. Off the bat I am not adding new cards to the deck is of course the most obvious but as a player of the game I have come to learn a few other things that newer players may want to be aware of.

Types of Daily Quests

Straight out of Splinterland's white paper:
https://docs.splinterlands.com/rewards/daily-quest-rewards

Possible Daily Quests
Earth Quest - Win 5 ranked battles with the Earth Splinter.
Water Quest - Win 5 ranked battles with the Water Splinter.
Fire Quest - Win 5 ranked battles with the Fire Splinter.
Death Quest - Win 5 ranked battles with the Death Splinter.
Life Quest - Win 5 ranked battles with the Life Splinter.
Dragon Quest - Win 5 ranked battles with the Dragon Splinter.
No Neutral Quest - Win 5 ranked battles without any Neutral cards.
Sneak Quest - Win 5 ranked battles using at least 1 card with the Sneak ability.
Snipe Quest - Win 5 ranked battles using at least 1 card with the Snipe ability.

There are a total of 10 different quests. The first tip is to have a balance team. What I mean by this is in order to compete well players are recommended to build decks for all splinters. Anyone of those splinters missing they will have a difficult to impossible task to completing the quest.

New Quest?

image.png

As simple as it looks there is an option to reset daily quest but only allowed once per day. The second tip somewhat overlaps with tip one. If player does not have a specific deck but needs to compete they should select new quest. Rather to struggling through to complete the quest the player hopefully have a new quest where they have the right cards to qualify and complete.

Leagues Matters

image.png

The allure of earning more rewards in a quest may temp players to move up in leagues. By rules of the game once a player moves up a league during a season they will also have to deal with the level card limitation rising. For instance from silver league to gold league cards are limited at lower levels in silver than in gold. Tip three is to have as much of your cards that fits a league and stick with playing in that league even if you gain enough points to rise to the next league. The thought is players moving up in leagues will face much tougher opponents since those opponents will likely have higher level cards.

Sticking through the best league that fits the player depending on majority of their card's levels will yield best chances of completing the daily quest without losing so much. Rapid decline in results happens sometimes when the player accelerated too quickly through the ranks only to then be faced with tougher opponents.

Rule Sets Matters

image.png

There are currently 33 different rule sets. Most battles have two rule sets but sometimes there would be battles with no rule sets. What the focus here is right at the start of every match player should determine the battle's rule sets and find ways to overcome the rule set/s or use them to the player's advantage. Tip four is to leverage the battle's rule set in your favor so to increase your chances of winning.

Predicting Formations While Completing Quests

I am saving this for last as this maybe over looked. Ever got into a quest and you simply continue trying yet run into a streak of losses? Well maybe this is what you are doing that is allowing your opponent to better prepare against you when battling.

image.png

At the beginning of every battle player gets to see their opponent's name, collection power, and specifically the splinters use in the last five matches. Snapshot is an example of such where the last four matches were earth splinter. With that odds of using it for a fifth time was likely so I would prepare for such. Bad example here though since earth splinter was removed from play but you should get the idea. When you play a daily quest with a specific splinter do not just continuously use that one splinter in every match consecutively. This will allow your opponent to prepare against the specific splinter you are playing with. By allowing your opponent to be aware of what splinter you have the more experienced players will know what common cards are used in that specific splinter and quickly plan their formation to beat on what is likely obvious. While player trying to complete quest is only focus on completing not focus on increasing odds to winning the battle.

Recommend to play multiple splinterlands even if you have a specific splinter daily quest. In addition to finishing the quest you may as well play enough battles to reduce your ECR bar far enough so it would fully charge itself each and every day.

Conclusions

Quick summary here. Tip one is to have all your splinters fill with enough cards so when time comes to compete you are able to. Missing one or more splinters may save you money in the short run but in the longer run limits your success rates in daily quests.

Tip two is reset the quest by clicking "new quest" if indeed you can't complete a quest. This can be done only once per a day so use with caution. Only reset quest if you are truly unable to get past the quest.

Tipe three is to stick to the league you are playing in. Rising up the ranks may earn you more DEC per a battle win and more daily chest rewards when you complete a quest. However if you raise in leagues too quickly you may not be well perpared for higher league with tougher opponents. The highest leagues in Diamond and Champion would have more max level cards holders.

Tip four is to leverage the battle with the rule sets in play. Either nullify the rule set when possible or use it to your advantage in battle. For example earthquake rule set may make you want to use more flying abilities monsters so to not have to take -2 damage per a turn.

Tip five is to play quest as if you were playing just ranking battle. Or at the very least not go more than five rounds consistently using the same splinter. Your opponent will see what the past five matches you used and with that guild them to predicting your formation setup.

Hopefully this helps newer players in limiting the daily quest as much as possible. Good luck when playing out there.

Until next time thanks for reading!!!

I think this need to be corrected.

No Neutral Quest - Win 5 ranked battles without any Neutral cards.

It required only 3 ranked battles to win.

I'm on the Silver III league, and I'm having HUGE problems in doing the daily quests that involves playing with a specific Splinter when the Splinter isn't the Water one.

In my League, the Venari Wavesmith meta is so strong, and it's very, very difficult to beat it WITHOUT playing as the Water Splinter itself (with Bortus + a tank with Void ability). For example, today I had to do a Fire Splinter quest, and it was impossible to win against Water Decks using the combo. I wasn't even able to hit the enemy monsters because of the +2 Armor :(

Thank you for the daily quest review, but I think you made a mistake in the overwiev. Neutral dailies require only 3 wins.
To be honest, I often skip dailies for a better rating and win-ratio, but the last couple of days I pulled an epic and a GF card, so, it's worth playing dailies.
