During the war, the difference is not in resources, is in the attitude! said the Supply Runner (A Splinterlands battle challenge)

What is Splinterlands?

Splinterlands is a card game, similar with Hearthstone, where you can play battle against other players to get a better rank or in tournaments. It is a NFT game based on Hive Blockchain, with multiple ways to capitalise and make money, real money, by playing it or trading in it. You can start earning as soon as you buy a Spellbook ($10) getting DEC tokens and NFT monster cards via daily quests and season quests (every 2 weeks). There is an airdrop daily, for a whole year, currently at day 295/365, I think, and you can still get some nice governance tokens just by playing the game for the next few months. Everything counts, cards, DEC on HIVE, WAX, ETH and BSC, lands, titles, skins. You can maximize the airdrop by staking all you SPS for a 23.6% APR right now. Another way to make profit is to rent cards, getting paid in DEC tokens for it. But, my, oh my, the renting price right now is so, so low.

At last, we can finally buy packs with 4$, using just Credits. Even then, if you want to get the extra packs, you still need vouchers, but just for the bonus packs. An awesome hint from a really good player (not me), if you open your packs after the Legendary summoners are introduced, you have a small chance to get them from the packs. It was announced that Lands NFT and Riftwatchers pack are coming in the third quarter now, with the new Roadmap proposed by Splinterlands. Just check this awesome page about what are the Lands supposed to do.

One of the cards that i do not play very often, given that there are plenty of cards offering similat stats for 4 Mana instead of 6 Mana, like this one costs. At max level the Supply Runner has 3 Ranged attack, 5 Speed and 5 Health, with Swiftness at level 5, boosting your team with +1 Speed, and Strenghten at level 10, boosting your team with +1 Health. It will cost you around $7.5 to buy a level 5 one (for Speed boost) and you need to be careful to not use it on Reverse Speed ruleset. However, a good Speed boost (thinking at the Kitty Dragon summoner with +2 Speed) can lead the other team to miss most of their attacks, if they do not use Slow.

So, for the challenge, this were the starting conditions:

Mana Limit: 30

Rulesets: Heavy Hitters (All have Knock-Out) and Rise of the Commons (Only Rare and Common allowed)

Teams:

Mine - Summoner: Obsidian (with +1 Magic Boost), using Flesh Golem with heal, as a main tank, backed up by the Failed Summoner, with Magic Reflection and Demoralize ( Decrease Melle attack by 1), then 3 magic users, Kmerr Princess, with two healers, Wood Nymph and Golbin Psychic, last one decreasing Magic by 1 and using Affliction to stop healing, and finally, the Supply Runner, with 3 Ranged attack and boosting the team Speed by 1.

Opponent - Summoner: Mylor Crowling, returning damage with Thorns, with Unicorn Mustang as main tank, using Void to resist Magic, Horny Toad with Reach attacking from the second position, Psychic Goblin as healer, Goblin Thief with Sneak, attacking the last position, Mantoid with Snipe, and a Chicken last as fodder.

This was a interesting battle, and while my opponent chose return damage and anti-magic as strategy, I just went full on over-healing, with self-healing tank and 2 other healers. He lost his tank in first round, and his back-up Toad and healer in the second round. My tank seems to hold one, being only close to die in the first round. His Goblin Thief, Mantoid and Chicked were taken out in the third round. There were few misses, allowing my tank to stay alive, but the odds were in my favour.

Star of the game - The Supply Runner, changing the tide of the battle with the Speed boost, leading to quite a few misses from the opponent's team

On the side note, my continuous support for Splintertalk.io is going well, with my SPT tokens number raising over 1 million. All of it is delegated to @monster-curator, as this account is doing a great work curating the best posts on the forum. I have finally reached the needed SPT power (110K at the moment) to manually curate on Splinterlalk.io. Also, working on acquiring 50K Oneup (12000 UP now) next, inspired by the Cartel efforts. Bought 200K Level too, for PsiberX airdrop, as I also managed to round up 100 Hive to buy a piece of Land in their game.

Also, if you are posting on Publish0x and Read.cash blogs, and you liked the Chifibots game mentioned in the latest OneUp Cartel posts, there are still 4 prizes to be won if you want to get some of their NFT packs on this contest, open until the day they launch.

All the best,
George
