Comparing Splinterlands to games like Temple Run, C.O.D, Far Cry...

I'm a huge fan of video games, especially games found on consoles like the PlayStation and the Xbox but funny enough I've never personally owned a console, while growing up, they were too expensive for me and my folks never just saw a reason for it, for me. But most of my friends did own a type, so whenever I'm away at their place, its always game time.

When it comes to playing soccer, I always get my ass beat, car racing, I didn't find it much fun, however the games that never ceased to occupy my time and attention were adventure first person shooter games, name it, from Far Cry to Godhand to C.O.D, God of War and some others. I could go the whole day playing them, only that, there were not multiplayer and it wasn't my house so I never had the chance to satisfy myself to the fullest.

Eventually I got my hands around P.C games, (there was a family P.C) though most were of low resolution and not as fun but they did suffice for the time being, I played Men in Black, Resident evil, Batman,

I could play them all night. My best adventure games would still be between Far Cry and C.O.D, once I get my head into them, I get so absorbed that 5hours seem like 30mins and I totally forget I'm even hungry.

One of my fantasies used to be the dream of being able to earn real money from those coins we accumulated all the time. A perfect game which will have suited me was Fortnite, but I never really got myself around it.

Gaming on The Blockchain

Fast forward to Blockchain Era, I began to see appearances of games where people were earning cryptocurrency in real time. First I knew of was Cryptokitties, an RPG built on Ethereum blockchain, but I didn't find it fun, moreover they shortly after began to have issues on the blockchain, which just ruled it out for me.

Splinterlands became the first game changer for me, a trading card game built on Steem blockchain, where players could earn real value for winning games, fortunately for me, I was present at the very beginning of the game and I thought to give it a try, and boom, it was awesome, I began playing more frequently to grow my deck of cards, I began winning cards that had real value and not just some unuseable coins.

Interestingly it was available as a web application, so I could access it with either my P.C or my mobile phone as long as I had internet, even while some say its not convenient playing it on mobile, for me out of probably 10,000 splinterlands games I've played, 9000 has been on my mobile, but it could be better I agree.

Splinterlands is super engaging, with daily quests and season quests, you want to push yourself higher to have access to better rewards, there are also daily tournaments when you just battle right out for money lol. You also want to level up your cards to gain you access to more wins and rank in the leaderboard, so you're essentially managing your cards while thinking of the next best strategy to beat your opponent.

These day's I find myself playing Splinterlands almost anywhere I am, when I see other people gaming away on their phones with games like Flappy birds, or Temple run, I wonder what they do with all those unuseable coins and meaningless ranks, most of all, all the time they waste....

Definately the peak of my excitement will be when my coins on Far Cry could have real world value and can be as conveniently playable as Splinterlands, or maybe in future Splinterlands will evolve into an adventure-like first person shooter game lol, I don't know, but one thing is sure, as far as gaming is concerned, for me, Splinterlands is the realest.

There's a common misconception around that games like Splinterlands are expensive to play because players have to buy cards, I feel its totally wrong because if one was to play any of the other traditional games out there, they had to most likely buy the console first then the game CD which costs and reduces in value over time, on Splinterlands you don't even have to spend quarter of that budget on cards before you can gradually begin to build your collection.

In other traditional games, you battle to win virtual rewards, in Splinterlands you battle to win rewards with real value. Splinterlands is a revamp of the entire gaming system in the world, soon enough the whole world will open their eyes to gaming systems with real value and flock into the game.

And that's it for today's game bants folks, if you'd like to join me in having this awesome gaming experience, here's my referral link

Don't forget that if you don't have a steem account or haven't bought any cards, you can still play for fun by registering with your Email address. This will allow you access to a lite account. The real deal is when you buy your cards and build your deck, because only then will you have access to tournaments, daily and season quests.

If you're game, I'm always up for a challenge. Hit me up and get your ass whooped.

Battle till you drop!!!! See ya.

I love Splinterlands too! Cryptokitties was sooo boring for me, lol! Plus I can't stand the Ethereum blockchain as Steem is the greatest! An upvote is on the way!
