A card with a high attack and speed to defeat your opponents.

For this week's challenge I choose a card with a very useful ability in battles, this card is the Serpentine Spy and many of you must have played with it and know how its Opportunity ability that makes it attack the lowest health card is a great choice to have by your side.

Serpentine Spy is a card with melee attack and its main focus is to deal damage in battle because it has no shield as a defense and its health is extremely low so when positioning it be careful not to choose a position close to the first or the last to that he is not an easy target. If you are looking to increase the Serpentine Spy's attack then summoner like Malric Inferno and Tarsa are great choices but I prefer to use Tarsa because it is a summoner that in addition to increasing attack also increases health and this is a great bonus for Serpentine Spy.

Its stats at level 1 are 2 attack which is a reasonable amount for a card that spends 3 mana and with the help of a summoner like Tarsa this attack becomes 3 so it's an attack that I consider strong especially in leagues casualties. Its agility is 3 so it is a card that has good agility and will probably not take long to attack in battle. His life is 1 and this is his biggest weakness because he can be easily defeated, especially if your opponent also has a card with the Opportunity ability. Remembering that all this is only at level 1.

At level 10, which is his maximum level, he has 4 attack which I consider high for a card that costs 3 mana and this is something very positive for him, 6 agility which is also very high so he will certainly be one of the first cards to attack in battle, 3 health which is already better than level 1 but it's still low so he's still an easy target to be defeated. As I mentioned before his focus is attack so it's normal to excel in attack and speed, and leave health as a weakness but he still gets better in attack because of his 2 abilities which are Opportunity and Poison. Opportunity he has since level 1 and Poison only at level 10.

The image above shows an overview of the Serpentine Spy card, remembering that there are level restrictions in the leagues so Serpentine Spy at level 10 with the Poison ability would only be possible in the diamond league or above.

Now I will explain in more detail how his abilities work.

The Opportunity ability makes Serpentine Spy attack the opponent's lowest health card but if he is in first position then his target will be your opponent's first position card. I consider it a great ability and attacking the lowest health card gives a better chance of defeating an opponent's card in the round and with Serpentine Spy's speed even before it is able to attack.

The Poison ability gives Serpentine Spy a 50% chance to apply this effect to the card it attacks and deal 2 damage to it at the end of the round. It's also a great ability to have when the focus of the card is attacking because it increases the amount of damage the card is capable of inflicting in the round.

For the battle besides Serpentine Spy I used other cards that were quite useful, these cards are:

Tarsa (Level 1) as a summoner that I mentioned before and she will increase the melee attack and health of my cards by +1.

The Living Lava (Level 1) that is defending in the first position and is a melee card with the Shield ability that makes him take reduced damage from melee and ranged attacks.

The Radiated Scorcher (Level 1) which is in the second position and is a melee card with no abilities so it will only be useful when in the first position.

The Tenyii Striker (Level 1) which is in the third position and is a melee card with the Sneak ability so it will attack the opponent's card positioned in the last position.

The Serpentine Spy (Level 1) which is in the fourth position and is a melee card with the Opportunity ability that makes him attack the opponent's lowest life card.

The Lava Spider (Level 1) which is in the fifth position and is a ranged card with the Snipe ability that makes it have priority for cards with magic and ranged attacks.

Spark Pixies (Level 1) which is in sixth position and is a ranged card with the Flying ability that makes it more likely to dodge attacks from cards that don't have the Flying ability.

See the Battle

In the battle my opponent used the Obsidian summoner from the earth deck and it increases the magic attack of his cards by +1, he has 2 cards with this type of attack and they will be a problem for my Living Lava that is defending in the first position because his Shield ability will only be useful against melee and ranged cards, in addition magic attacks ignore the shield and directly attack the cards' health.

My opponent has 5 cards and I have 6 so that gives me a certain advantage over him but his magic attack cards are very strong and one of them has the Tank Heal ability that will heal his card positioned in the first position.

In this battle the available mana is 27 and there are no rules

Round 1

In the first round despite my opponent having strong cards with magic attack my Living Lava card resisted well and his shield and his Shield ability were very useful against my opponent's other cards so he survived this round. The Serpentine Spy card attacked the lowest health card that was the Chaos Agent and defeated it, in addition to having the Tenyi Striker that has the Sneak ability was also a great choice because he was able to defeat the Goblin Psychic card that was one of the cards with my opponent's magic attack before she was able to attack and use the Tank Heal ability.

Living Lava was the last card to attack and it missed the attack because its speed is very low so the chances of missing are high. My opponent now has 3 cards and I still have 6.

Round 2

In the second round Living Lava continued to hold out well in the battle and still hasn't been defeated. The Serpentine Spy's target this time was the Child of the Forest which has a higher speed than him so he ended up missing the attack. Tenyii Striker attacked Regal Peryton for 3 damage and Lava Spider defeated Child of the Forest with its Snipe ability.

Living Lava remained the last card to attack but this time it didn't miss the attack and did 3 damage to Unicorn Mustang.

Round 3

In the third round Living Lava couldn't resist and was defeated. The Unicorn Mustang was defeated by Spark Pixies which is my card with the highest speed. The Serpentine Spy ended up missing the attack again, attacking the Regal Peryton card because it had more speed and the Flying ability, in addition to it, the Tenyii Striker and Lava Spider also missed the attack. The Radiated Scorcher who took the first position was the last to attack and also missed the attack.

Round 4

In the fourth round, my opponent's Regal Peryton card was the first to attack because it was the card with the highest speed in the battle, but soon after it was damaged by the Spark Pixies card and the Serpentine Spy that gave the last hit and defeated it causing the battle ended.

Conclusion

Cards with the Opportunity ability are very useful in battles because the chances of having an opponent's card defeated in the round are high. In addition to him having cards like Tenyii Striker and Lava Spider are also great choices because they attack the cards that are not in the first position so it increases the chances of Serpentine Spy defeating the cards because the cards in the back row have less health. Summoner Tarsa is also an excellent choice when you have multiple melee cards like I had in this battle and she will also increase the health of all your cards which makes her even more useful for battles.
