Attacking the back line is a low blow but it is necessary

For this week's challenge I will use the Tenyii Striker card from the fire deck which is an excellent choice when it comes to dealing damage and dodging attacks. He is a rare card from the chaos legion edition and also one of the starter cards that you can play for free after with the Spellbook in Splinterlands, his attack type is melee so summoners like Tarsa and Malric Inferno that increase his attack are a great choice and the Tenyii Striker's mana cost is 5.

His stats at level 1 are 2 attack which is not very high but with the help of the summoners I mentioned before he gets even stronger, 2 speed which can be considered low but at higher levels it gets better and 6 health the which is reasonable but as Tenyii Striker's utility is dealing damage so I consider it a good amount of health for it.

At level 8, which is his maximum level, he already has 5 attack which is a very high value for a card with 5 mana cost and that can get even stronger with summoners that increase his melee attack so have no doubts that the Tenyii Striker will do a lot of damage in battle, 4 speed which is already considered high so at this level its speed is already a plus and 7 health which is only 1 health more than level 1 but still a good amount of life for a card to have. In addition, he has 3 abilities that are obtained at different levels, the Sneak ability he has from level 1, the Dodge ability from level 4 and the Backfire ability from level 7.

The image above shows an overview of the Tenyii Striker card, remembering that there are level restrictions in the leagues so the Tenyii Striker at level 4 with the Dodge ability would only be possible in the silver league or above and the Tenyii Striker with the Backfire ability at the level 7 only in diamond league or above.

Now I will explain how each of his abilities works and why they will be useful in battles.

imag 3.png

The Sneak ability will make Tenyii Striker attack the opponent's card positioned in the last position, this ability will be very useful for you to have a chance to defeat the opponent's back row cards without having to defeat the card in the first position before It's usually harder to defeat, so having one less card from your opponent in battle as quickly as possible can make all the difference.

imag 4.png

The Dodge ability increases the Tenyii Striker's chances of dodging a melee and ranged attack by 25%, so it will be a type of ability that will help him survive longer in battles as melee and ranged cards are often used and this one enable makes them miss a lot even though it's only +25% chance.

imag 6.png

The Backfire ability makes the Tenyii Striker do 2 damage whenever a card misses the attack on it, so if your opponent's card attacks the Tenyii Striker and misses the attack it will take 2 damage. It's a very useful ability since it won't be difficult for the card to miss as it also has the Dodge ability, so it's an additional damage that will help you a lot in battles.

Now let's get to the main part of this week's challenge, which is the battle.

For the battle besides Tenyii Striker I used other cards that were quite useful, these cards are:

Tarsa (level 1) who was one of the summoners I mentioned before and she will be very useful for melee cards like Tenyii Striker and her other cards as well because she increases melee attack by +1 and the life of cards by +1.

The Platoon Antoid (level 1) which is a great low mana cost defense, its attack is melee and it has the Shield ability that reduces the damage received by melee and ranged attacks.

The Radiated Scorcher (level 1) which is a melee card and has no abilities, he is not able to attack unless he is in 1st position so at the beginning of the battle he will not be useful.

The Tenyii Striker (level 1) which as I mentioned before will be very useful in dealing damage and defeating your opponent's back row cards.

The Serpentine Spy (level 1) which is also a melee card and has the Opportunity ability that makes him attack the opponent's lowest health card and this will be very useful to help Tenyii Striker in battle.

The Chaos Agent (level 1) which is a non-attacking card and its only use is taking damage from cards that attack the back row with the Sneak ability.

See the Battle

In the battle my opponent used a summoner that increases the health of his cards by +1 and the more health they have the harder it will be to defeat them, but I have the summoner Tarsa who was a great choice as she will also increase the health of my +1 cards and the melee attack which is the attack type of most of my cards.

My opponent also has a card with the Sneak ability that is Stitch Leech and a card with the Opportunity ability that is Celestial Harpy, in addition to them also has the Time Mage card with the Slow ability that reduces the speed of my cards by +1, your other cards have no abilities.

In this battle the available mana is 18 and there are no rules

Round 1

In the first round the Tenyii Striker card proved to be quite useful because with its high attack it was able to defeat my opponent's Celestial Harpy card in just 1 attack, the Serpentine Spy card also managed to defeat a card and have the Chaos Agent in the last one. position was also a good choice because it prevented Serpetine Spy from being defeated.

Tarsa was also an excellent choice to be my summoner because with her help defeating 2 cards and having my Serpetine Spy still in battle, she made it possible.

Round 2

In the second round Tenyii Striker was not able to defeat a card because his target which was Stitch Leech had more health than his attack, but now the card has only 1 health which makes it easy to defeat, the Antoid Platoon is also being quite useful and managed to resist until now even having low health.

The Serpetine Spy card was targeted by Stitch Leech and was eventually defeated.

Round 3

In the third round Stitch Leech couldn't resist Tenyii Striker's attack this time and was defeated, now there are 2 cards left for my opponent and 3 cards for me.

Round 4

In the fourth round unfortunately Tenyii Striker misses his attack on Time Mage and does no damage this round, Antoid Platoon was defeated and now Radiated Scorcher is finally in first position and will be able to attack.

Round 5

In the fifth round Tenyii Striker doesn't miss its attack on Time Mage and leaves it with only 1 and life, Radiated Scorcher is defeated before being able to attack and now Tenyii Striker is my only card in the battle.

Round 6

In the sixth round both of my opponent's cards have only 1 health so they are easy targets for my Tenyii Striker who has full health, his target was the Blinding Reflector that was defeated.

Round 7

In the seventh round Tenyii Striker misses the attack and does no damage this round.

Round 8

In the eighth round he lands the attack and manages to defeat the Time Mage causing the battle to end.

Conclusion

Tenyii Striker is an excellent card to deal damage and even more useful at higher levels where it has more attack and great abilities, but even at level 1 it is a great choice for battles because it is able to defeat the back row cards of your opponent with ease.

Having the summoner Tarsa also helps a lot as well as other melee cards with the Sneak or Opportunity ability to help him defeat the back row cards. So if you're looking for a card that won't make you regret in battles, Tenyii Striker is that card.
