For this brawl, our guild, Splinter Skulls was able to rank 4th with more than 20 pts difference from the third place. With this performance, we got x8 CROWNS, and each participating member got 308 Merits! Not our best performance, but still a decent one. Sad to say but, I contributed poorly on this one!

Mozzie's performance and battles highlight

As usual, I participated in the Novice Alpha/Beta fray. I just can't resist joining that one! There were 6 people who joined that Fray, and unfortunately I was only able to have an actual match with the two of them! What a bummer...

So what happened was, I did not know that if your rentals expire the time that your opponent submitted their team, your match will result in a flee. Oh boy, I was spamming my rented Selenia Sky in those three matches! Luckily, one of my enemies did not submit a team at all. This still gave me a 50% win rate in this brawl.

Anyway, lesson learned. It is better to submit my teams when I am sure that I can keep my rentals until the end of the brawls. My performance for this brawl is very disappointing.

Between these two matches, my favorite one is the first battle, Alric vs. Zintar match up. While watching the replay, I initially thought that I would lose it because by end of Round 1, both of my Magic monsters are already dead. I'm glad that Water Elemental and Earthquake saved the day.

The match was concluded at Round 3, with Cyclops and Water Elemental as the last monsters standing. This match reminded me how essential it is to have monsters with heal in Novice league.

Final Thoughts

After this brawl, I am definitely taking my time before I submit my battles. I'll make sure that my rentals will last until the end of the countdown timer. You won't know when your opponent will submit their team!

As disappointing as this brawl was, I'm glad that I was able to learn this lesson first-hand. I've always did the brawl rentals thing this way, I'm not sure what triggered the flees to happen now. Anyway, it was also a great timing to learn this lesson now, while our guild was not in a crucial spot for our ranking in brawls. Imagine if that happened when we are just one win away from the third place!
