The Perils of Mono-Deck

So we can all admit it, we definitely play favorites. With our friends, with our kids, and with our splinters (ok, maybe not the kids thing). But you certainly have a go to splinter, especially when you are just starting out. It may be because of a specific Monster, or Summoner, or just because you like the art. More often then not it is because you have to start somewhere.For me it was Water - I liked the magic true damage and the +1 magic from the Summoner helped reinforce that.

Aye, but here's the rub.

If you want to rank up for end of season rewards AND you want to collect cards every day in your Daily Quests - both in a pursuit of building your deck and broadening your versatility, then you are going to have to get some diversification.

Now yes you can rent some powerful cards, and just grind your way to the top but keep in mind two issues...

First you can't rent experience and nothing frustrates more than throwing a newly rented, fully leveled, Lord Arianthus into battle to lose BRUTALLY because you didn't pay attention to the Battle parameters or because your opponent has a more cohesive team.

The second I speak of first hand having Leveled all the way up to Gold II to get a Fire Daily Quest (after reshuffling from a Tournament Daily Quest) and then losing all the way down to Silver III before completing it. I have only just managed to get back to Gold II and I am banging on the door of Gold I - but you get my point - hopefully.

So as always a little practical advice...

1. Focus on building up a splinter at a time. Rent the balance if you want diversity.
2. Complete Daily Quests and eke out the highest rank you can in a season. Those reward cards will come in handy.
3. Have FUN!!! Splinterlands is awesome. A little patience in moving up the learning curve is well rewarded in the long run.
