Splinterlands: Loving my LIR DEEPSWIMMER

I have recently went on a buying spree and I have recorded in my 3 previous blogs on what cards I have purchased. Out of over 20+ purchases, I am been falling in love with one of the card that i have bought and i felt that it is definitely worth the buck for it.

Note: I have rented out most of my cards to generate passive DEC. However, I love playing Splinterlands so much that I bought thousand of Chao Legion Packs to get back in the game. As a result, most of the playable cards that I can use now is either Chao Legion splinters/summoners or those that I bought after the release of chao legion.

And as I am playing in the diamond level more than half of the season, it is very common for me to match against players that use insane legendary summoners like Yodin, Prince Rennyn etc. Relying only on Chao Legion summoners can be quite difficult to win against them. There are a lot of time i predicted that they may use yodin and prince rennyn, so I use Quix which seem like counter them as I reduce their range and speed, hoping the range will deal less damage and miss more due to low speed. Yet, even if I use countering monsters too, I still lose most of the time. And surprising, out of all the legendary summoners, Lir Deepswimmer is one of the cheaper summon. You can get a max Lv4 lir deepswimmer for less than $1k whereas Prince Rennyn and Yodin are worth like triple the price at $3k. Of course, defensive summoners are usually cheaper so in a way it makes sense why Lir Deepswimmer is cheaper but still, it does not deserve to be one of the cheapest. So despite $1k is still a heavy price, I purchased it, hoping it can make my gaming much better.

As you can see, Lip Summoner add protection to my whole team which i love it. It also have Return Fire ability which is the KEY on why I want to buy this. And instead of fighting against speed with Yodin/Prince Rennyn, I think Blind can also be a good passive ability to passive counter the 2 legendary summoners.

This match has 46 mana and has close range rules. With quite a high mana matches and even support range monster with the close range rule, opponent very likely to use Yodin on me since red is usable.

Lineup

Indeed, the opponent use yodin and I am very happy, predicting I have a high chance of winning cause Fire rangers seem to have lower hp than usual.
In round 1, opponent fire elemental made an attack on almo and also blast on Oshannus. As a result, both Almo and Oshannus reflect the range damage back to fire elmental, killing her with 2 and 3 reflect range damage who has only 4 hp.

Within the same round, as you can see that our team is attacking the first position and bring down the Lord Arianthus. Opponent Ferexia General actually has snipe skill, and as a result its range damage landed on Oshannus, making the attack also blast onto Almo and River Nymph, making it quite dangerous cause the blast itself also can deal 2-3 damage to the beside monsters while Oshannus has the forcefield to actually reduce the direct damage to 1. Sadly for Ferexia General, Almo + Oshannus + River Nymph each return 3 Return Fire damage back at Ferexia General. With a total of 3x3=9 Return Fire damage, Ferexia General which only have 7 hp cant bear the return damage and was killed.
Just within 1 round, 2 of their top rangers was taken down without any direct attack from our side.

At the start of round 2, you can see that the opponent only left with 3 monsters, 1 is taken out by us while the 2 is killed due to return fire.
With Almo that is able to return both magic and range damage, Oshannus being the 2nd tank is also able to return range, I can see that this match is quite predictable as even my monsters dont do anything, the opponent monsters will still die as long as they land an attack.

At the end of round 2, you can see that only Cornealus is surviving. Despite it can reflect all the 3 type of attack: melee+range+magic. Yet it is not concern as I still my full strength to take her down.

Reflection:

I am very happy with my Lir Deepswimmer. As you can see, the Lir Deepswimmer summoner is able to convert one of the most difficult match into something so simple. And I love to combo Lir Deepswimmer with Lord Arianthus, because Lord Arianthus only have magic and melee reflect, so with Lir Deepswimmer, it added range reflect, making Lord Arianthus to reflect all kinds of attack.
