The Splinterlands Luck of the Draw?

The Splinterlands game and community keeps bringing me back to engage around the ecosystems as things continue to grow and develop rather interestingly. The team behind the game has continued to work hard for the community as they have not been hesitant to request changes and provide feedback. We continue to see how the funds they are receiving from not only the Kickstarter but also the sale of packs are being used to update the game and its future development. For example, I continue to enjoy the mobile experience as the have expanded it recently.

The growth continues to trigger new Airdrops as the latest card from the Untamed Edition was revealed to be another powerful Legendary Summoner for the Fire Splinter. With the high mana rulesets that continue to be common in battles, these Summoners are becoming more important for those competitive players in the highest Divisions of the ranked leaderboards. I am still learning how to use them but was happy with my luck from the Airdrop as I received 8 regular cards and a Gold Foil!

I have not been very lucky with Legendary Gold Foil ever since I started early on with some great luck with my Lord of Darkness Gold Foils from both the Alpha and Beta Editions. However, I really have not been searching for them as I tried to build a Collection of Gold Foils but gave up given the high costs to do so. I was able to gather some great cards but none are maximum level. I think they will be great assets to have for the future though. In the meantime, I have them delegated to my second account which is now able to reach Diamond Division to bring in some extra rewards every Season.

The team has gone a step further and now released a new Promo card to celebrate the bitcoin halving event. It is an Epic Neutral card and of course I needed to add it to my Collection! Given that it will be exclusive or limited to 12k, I thought it would be great to have a maximum level. However, given the published 2% chance to get a Gold Foil, I had to buy enough packs to ensure I got enough regulars for the max level. Surprisingly, I did not get one Gold Foil with 250 packs! Somewhat disappointing but can't always think I will get one!

It was amazing to see how quickly the amount of the Promo cards went! I was figuring out a way to be more efficient with my resources while trying to save some DEC but ultimately FOMO'd in with the purchase with some Steem I had lying around. It has brought demand back to DEC which is encouraging although it happened before I could get my hands on more DEC which I have been wanting to do. I surely want to be ready for the next round of development and become a virtual real estate investors in the Splinterlands!
