I'm still running on the rewards potion which is great to get with the new cards out.
A total haul of 168 regular and 3 gold cards. The two legendary makes it a little better boost.

Rentals is where the money is these days. 100k this season which is almost $600 a week in dollars. That is an income if these level hold.

SPS is building up nicely and getting staked ever single day. Another 6400 SPs or 4k in dollars. Splinterlands is a beast right now.

I don't earn that much from playing and would probably do better by just renting everything but that would take the fun out of it. Plus it's all about those gold legendaries.

It's not too shabby is it?

Trying to keep increasing it every month and built to a living wage. That's the dream.

Loving the new rental system. It's great to keep adding to my collection and put it to work at the same time.

brilliant game, unfortunately recently my SPS deposit got stuck and now I am experiencing worse part of the game - dealing with support (4th day now).
But hopefully they get better at this 🙃

That is unfortunate.
It's also the problem with start up companies and huge growth. Hard to keep scaling to match the growth.
Hopefully they will get there over time and get you sorted too.

I’ve only just started playing Splinterlands within the last week. Still very much confused, but that’s the life of a noob. Haven’t yet decided if I’ll be a regular player or just try to acquire cards for renting and potential price appreciation. What are some of the better reasonably-priced cards for the second option?

It's never too late to start. It does take a while to get a handle on the game but its very addicting once you do.
I play the game for fun and a challenge before anything else but the explosion in users has really helped it to take off for earning.
I try to win where i can and if you get a good card in the quest rewards can sell or rent to build a better deck. It's like all of crypto where the more that you can stack, the more that it grows.

If you are going buy to rent there are two things to look at.

Collection power on the cards that you are buying. Important at end of season and for leagues.
Rental returns on each card.

IT's better to buy a good card for $50 that will rent at 100$ APR like an epic beta than a lot of cheap crap ones.

At the moment i'm stacking mischievous mermaid at $60 a pop. Expensive but a popular and rare card. Earns over 200% APR and easy to rent out. I've sold lots of smaller cards earning 30% APR that needs lots of managing for ten of these that are an easy rent.
