Share Your Battle: Goblin Psychic

The battle challenge monster this week is the Goblin Psychic. It is a common card included with the newly released Chaos Legion edition of cards. It is an extremely powerful monster considering that it is a common. It has a magic attack of 2 and also provides the tank heal ability. It only needs to be leveled up to 4 to also provide the Affliction ability.

There were already several tank healers in the Earth splinter even before Chaos Legion was released. These include the Wood Nymph, Khmer Princess, and Spirit of the Forest. The Earth splinter has got to have the most Tank healers of any splinter. However to my knowledge, the splinter is lacking any card with the Cleanse ability and there are no neutral cards with this ability. So the splinter is vulnerable to Affliction which makes a tank unable to be healed.

This week I had a 14 mana match with the ‘Only even numbered cards may be used’ ruleset. The Goblin Psychic is an even numbered mana card so it seemed like a nice opportunity to use it.

Here is a link to the battle:

When I have a tank heal, I am always trying to pair it with a tank with the largest health possible so that it is difficult to kill off. In this case, I am a bit limited by mana since I only have 4 mana left after choosing my summoner and Goblin Psychic. Luckily, there is a neutral card, the Xenith Monk that provides 6 health at only 4 mana. After putting the 0 mana Furious Chicken in, my lineup is ready for battle.

Start of Battle / Round 1

I first noticed that my opponent’s tank had a lot shielding and a fast speed of 5. This means that Melee and Ranged attack monsters will have a 50/50 chance of hitting this monster on top of having to go through all of the shields. Luckily, I have my Goblin Psychic attacking with a magic attack of 3 after getting buffed by 1 with my summoner. This magic attack will go through the shields and has no chance of missing.

Round 2

My tank has only lost 1 health thanks to the healing power of my Goblin Psychic. Meanwhile my opponent’s tank has lost 3 health.

Round 3

My opponent’s tank is down to 1 heath, while my tank is remaining strong.

Round 4

The game is pretty much over at this point as my opponent is down to just one monster with a health of 1.

In this case, my strategy for winning ended up working out. My opponent either needed to be able to do more damage to my tank or have some backfield attack to take out my Goblin Psychic.

I already own the Wood Nymph and Khmer Princess. However, I am planning on buying the Goblin Psychic to add to my collection of tank healers in the Earth splinter. I figure you cannot go wrong having too many of them. In addition to tank healing, they also provide a strong magic attack. Together they will be tough for an opponent to deal with unless they have a monster with Affliction.

Keep Battling
