Weekly Splinterlands Challenge: Dragon

I just couldn't resist this week's Splinterlands challenge of Dragon splinter. Why? Because I can show off one of my most loved (NB - not most played) and very first legendary card that I got:

~ Byzantine Kitty ~

Just look at her (or him). Don't you just want to cuddle this kitty with its huge and sparkly eyes? What evil could possibly hide behind these windows to her soul? Further enhanced by the white coat and wings - innocence personified! Just wait till you encounter Byzantine Kitty on the battlefields.

But first, I have to ask: Does any of you remember the old Disney animated film 'Aristocats'? Every time I look at Byzantine Kitty I can't help but think of Duchess the mom cat in the film. Here is a very brief clip and if you skip to 1 minute you'll see Duchess in case you don't see her in the embed below.

Okay, enough of the cuteness talk, battle time!

I will admit that a) I am not a good player and b) I don't use Kitty all that often. Well, I didn't use her that often until this first battle below. I love my Legendaries, love the art and, of course, their abilities, but Kitty costs 7 mana, so there is only a little mana left for monsters if you get into a low mana battle, which happens quite a bit -arrgh!

So, low mana battle for me meant no Legendaries, no Byzantine Kitty. That was until I discovered with this battle that it can still work:

14 mana battle with summoner Byzantine Kitty
Frozen soldier is a tough opponent, but double-heal, plus Kitty's added speed - yay!

My two favorite 'cats' together: Byzantine Kitty + Kralus

The added speed makes for a lot of misses by my opponent.

Last but not least: Byzantine Kitty + Diamond Dragon
Despite affliction dealt on Diamond Dragon, Kitty's heal for the win.

I am certain that I also had good battles with Dragon + Death. I wish I could find an older battle link. Maybe someone knows how to?

Anyways, I cannot leave you without anything creative made by me. Mind you I'll keep refining it, maybe add something flashy to it, but for now - this is a footer gif I created for the Splinterlands guild I belong to Acolytes of Helio. Well, their sister guild Disciples of Helio, but we're all one team.
