Splinterlands | Life Leech Vs. Blood Lust | Who Wins? | Check It Out!

Splinterlands | Life Leech or Blood Lust?

Two of the abilities that keep increasing the life of the monsters are the life leech and blood lust ability. But which one stands the test of a battle? Don’t know? No problem, I checked it out, and here we will look at the result. I promise it’s going to be an entertaining one.

For starters, what are the Life Leech and Blood Lust abilities? In the case of Life Leech, as and when the monster with that ability attacks another monster, it gains health. On the other hand, when a monster with Blood Lust attacks another monster and eliminates it, it gains one addition to all its stats. All stats mean - attack value, health, and speed. Such monsters can get ridiculously powerful.

But so can the monster with Life Leech ability given enough time to gain health. As such, a battle could go either way. Let’s see one such game, but before that, shall we spend a minute getting to know Splinterlands? After all, that’s where you will find all these fun battles, rules, and monsters.

What Game is Splinterlands?

Splinterlands is a digital card game that allows you to collect, trade, battle, rent, and even earn from the cards. The game gives Play to Earn a whole different meaning. By now, you would know that the governance token (SPS) airdrop made millionaires out of the early adopters. It still keeps giving and remains a fun and engaging game.

To give you an idea of how lucky you can get in Splinterlands, read my story of getting cards worth $500 from buying only a few packs worth $20.

Got Cards Worth $500 from $20 Packs

And this is just a tiny number. I have witnessed people getting uber-expensive cards in their pack and selling them for as high as $6500. In fact, there is a whole Splinterlands marketplace on the Hive blockchain and now on Wax too.

Life Leech Monster| Blood Lust Monster | Who Wins?

There are several factors that come into play when monsters with the said abilities battle against each other. While the Life Leech monster gains health and can withstand a longer attack when it gets to the front, the Blood Lust monsters have the advantage of all their stats getting an increase with each kill. But if the Blood Monsters haven’t had enough kills, then the Life Leech would win easily.

Then there are the permutations and combinations of what rule is in play. If the reverse speed rule is in play, it would be detrimental to use a blood-lust monster. Why? Because with each kill, its speed will also increase making it vulnerable to attacks from slower monsters. Conversely, if the Blood Lust monster has a dual-attack capability like the Quora Towershead, then it would become incredibly powerful in the game. So, many things are possible.

How about our game? Hop on.

The Battle | Frowns and Angry Brows

A quick look at the rule, and we get going.

So the battle was a 30-mana cap battle, and the health-equalizer rule was in play. This means all monsters will start with the same health and would be equal to the health of the highest health. Traditionally, Life Leech monsters stand to benefit the most from the health-equalizer rule since their health builds from a new high.

Unless my Blood Lust monster has enough kills, it won’t stand easily against a Life Leech monster. Talking of which, this is my team.

The Face-Off Screen

The imposing opponents stare each other in the eye.

I had chosen the Earth Splinter, and my team appeared at the top of the screen. I had Quora in the group, which is a Blood Lust monster. The lower part is the opponent’s, and the last monster in the lineup is the Life-Leech monster.

Even after round 3, nothing really happened to both teams, but look at the opponent’s Life-Leech monster at the end of the line. Also, look at my Halfling at the end of my monster lineup. So, one's health is improving, while the other is about to be eliminated.

We Battle Hard

It was round 6, and my team had already lost the Halfling.

At this point, the opponent looked strong, while my monster at the back was already losing out. Quora is still to make a kill.

And then Quora comes to life. However, my team has just one attack monster other than Quora, and the opponent has two monsters going for the back of my lineup. And don’t forget that the opponent still has the Life Leecher.

And The Battle Races to Conclusion | I Got It In the Bag

Things started changing around round 10, and by round 11, this is how things appeared.

Clearly, the opponent was in trouble. There was no way to make an effective comeback from this point.

And round 12 had already increased the stats of Quora. Although the Life Leech monster’s health stood at an impressive 22, it did not have a chance. Each round, my team would unleash an attack value of 12, while the Life Leech monster would only have an attack value of 2. Incredibly underpowered.

So, no prizes for guessing that I won. By round 14, it was over. Quora dealt the last blow. In a way, it wraps the discussion of which monster and ability is better!

I won!

A Hard-Fought Battle | I Won!

The battle couldn’t have ended in any other way. It was interesting that the Blood Lust monster finished the Life Leecher. 😊 It is not necessary that all battles will end this way, but this one proved beyond doubt that Blood Lust one is incredibly more powerful than a Life Leech monster.

And I can’t complain since I had the Blood Lust monster in my team, and I won. I hope you enjoyed reading the article, and do take a look at the battle in the link provided below. Enjoy!
