SHARE YOUR BATTLE Weekly Challenge! MYCELIC SLIPSPAWN
Today I can share a battle with one the most used monster in high mana matches for the Earth team - the Mycelic Slipspawn. As a magic taunt monster, it fits very well with Obsidian as a back line taunter - while a damage dealer is in the front. Let's go into an example - today from the last brawl in a mirror matchup!
The Ruleset
In addition to this ruleset, there was the restriction of Chaos Legion only due to the brawl fray. The mana cap favours the Mycelic Slipspawn, as there is still enough mana left for some nice damage dealer!
The Lineup
Card | Ability | Reason |
---|---|---|
+1 magic attack | Obsidian pairs very well for with the Slipspawn. Also there is no alternative when only CL is allowed :-) | |
Double Strike | A damage dealer in the front and the Slipspawn in the backline is a very common strategy! | |
Flying | Decent amount of hitpoints and with the Obsidian buff, 2 magic attack is quite good! | |
Tank Heal | Support for my front liner | |
bloodlust + heal | My mostly used Gladiator card, with the magic AND Melee attack and bloodlust and heal the Quora is very strong! | |
Triage | Supoprt for my Slipspawn | |
Taunt | As said in the intro, the strategy is clear. But the Taunt in the Backline and the damage dealer in the first position! |
The Battle
Round 1
The setups are very similar. The main difference is that I've got Triage and support for my Slipspawn, and the enemy got dispell. As the dispell is quite useless, the triage should be better. But it is also a factor of positioning and which bloodlust from the Quora will hit first!
The Triage comes at a very good time! The Slipspawn was down at 1 HP and then the Triage heals her up, so he can tank another hit and will survive the first round, while the enemy Slipspawn is down, good job so far! Everything else is very similar.
Round 2
Thanks to my Slipspawn, he tanked another hit and my Grund could stay one hit longer on the battle field and the enemy Grund was killed even before he was able to attack! That means, that the Quora is now at position 1 and will hopefully go down quickly, before the bloodlust comes!
Round 3
Now with the Quora in the first position, kill her! I was a bit lucky that the Quora missed my Peryton, but the 6 speed are awsome and provides some missing chances. So the Quora is left, now this is an easy win!
Round 4 - 6
Only taking down the enemy monsters, with my Quora still on the board with full hitpoints, this is GG.
Conclusion
The strategy works. A Slipspawn in the Backline, supported by Triage and the Grund in the Frontline, supported too and some more awsome damage dealers, this is a deadly combination!
