Hello and welcome back!

In this post I'll go over my 5 favorite Chaos Legion epic monsters. I've already covered my 5 favorite legendaries in a previous post. This is my personal preference influenced by gameplay, artwork and price, but I have played maxed out Chaos Legion silver cards in both the silver leaderboard and silver tournaments.

Without further ado, let's get into it!

Forgotten One

Pros/Strengths: Damage, Abilities, Survivability
Cons/Weaknesses: Speed, Magic, (Price)
Best Position: Tank
Price as of writing: $2.75
Win rate across all leagues: 71%
Card in action: High Silver Gameplay (This gameplay was collected from Splinterboard)

As one of the few Fire cards I like, the Forgotten One is an amazing tank with a lot of Damage and good Health and Armor. Immunity makes it very strong in Noxious Fume battles and as you level it up it gets Retaliate, further increasing its damage output. In the gameplay we can see the player using Forgotten One in a Noxious Fume battle beating the top 1 ranked silver player ueyuey. Its weaknesses are it's low Speed, Magic and rather high price for a Chaos Legion epic card.

Grund

Pros/Strengths: Damage, Abilities
Cons/Weaknesses: Survivability, Price
Best Position: First Position
Price as of writing: $2.99
Win rate across all leagues: 56.2%
Card in action: High Silver Gameplay

This comes as no surprise, as Grund is arguably the strongest Epic of the set. With its high base Attack and Double Strike ability it deals insane amounts of damage and as you level it up it gains Trample, becoming an unstoppable force. Its main weakness however are the missing defensive stats and abilities. While it has a bit of Health, this usually is not enough without any sort of further protection like Armor, Void, Heal etc. That being said there are ways to protect Grund, like a Taunt monster in the back or bringing Protection or Heal. Sadly its the most expensive of the Chaos Legion Epics.

Igor Darkspear

Pros/Strengths: Mana Cost, Abilities, Stats
Cons/Weaknesses: Ranged Attack
Best Position: Backline
Price as of writing: $1.48
Win rate across all leagues: 69.5%
Card in action: High Gold Gameplay (This gameplay was collected from Splinterboard)

I might be biased, again because I love the Water splinter and think this card looks really cool and the name Igor has something powerful to it. But as the win rate shows, this card is amazing. The reason being are its low mana cost coupled with the good base stats and Stun ability it gets in gold. You can almost always fit in a 2 mana monster and this one can deal damage, stun the opponent and has very good health making it hard to kill, especially in low mana games where you have limited amounts of damage. Its weakness is that its ranged as you often only have a couple of monsters in low mana battles, risking Igor to be pulled in the first position, where it can't attack, once these die.

Wave Brood

Pros/Strengths: Abilities, Health
Cons/Weaknesses: Speed, Damage
Best Position: Backline Tank
Price as of writing: $1.99
Win rate across all leagues: 65.3%
Card in action: High Gold Gameplay (This gameplay was collected from Splinterboard)

Wave Brood is one of the very few monsters that have Taunt, has really good Health and gains more defensive abilities like Void and Return Fire as you level it up. Even though it has Close Range and can attack from the first position as a ranged monster it doesn't really have a lot of Damage nor Speed. Where this card shines is in battles where you want to protect other cards from being attacked. Equal Opportunity and No Melee are rulesets where Wave Brood is particularly strong in. The Water team also has Triage monsters that can heal Wave Brood when putting it in the Backline, making it difficult to kill.

Djinn Chwala

Pros/Strengths: Abilities, Survivability, Damage, Price
Cons/Weaknesses: Magic, (Speed)
Best Position: Tank
Price as of writing: $0.23
Win rate across all leagues: 66%
Card in action: High Silver Gameplay

Djinn Chwala is just so good. Having Thorns at level one with amazing Health and Armor and decent Damage it makes for a superb Tank, especially at bronze level. As you level it up it gains Enrage, True Strike and a substantial amount of Attack, making it really deadly. All that for the current price of 23 cents is mind blowing to me, especially if you factor in the Collection Power / Dollar its offering. This card is a must have in my opinion! Weaknesses would be Magic as it goes through the Armor and ignores the Thorns and the low Speed in early levels.

Closing Words

Those are my 5 favorite Chaos Legion Epic monsters. There are some honorable mentions, like last time. Mainly Uraeus, Tusk the Wide and Hunter Jarx. Funnily enough this time there's no magic attack monsters where as it was only magic with the top 5 Legendaries.

Let me know what you think about my list and what your favorite Epics are. In the next post we'll go over my 5 favorite Rare cards, stay tuned!
