Start Buying and Selling Cards Today!

A lot of people very vaguely discuss the art of buying and selling cards for a profit here in Splinterlands. I've only recently gotten into it myself, but here are some things that you should know to get you started! I hope they help!

Tip 1: Buy Cheap

What does buying cheap even mean? It goes without saying that you have to look for the best deals when you plan to start buying cards. The question is, where do you look?
Option 1: Marketplace
Look at people selling at a low price. Sometimes what people do is they buy all the cheaper ones and then create an artificially higher price. If the community accepts that as the new price, you profit!

You can purchase the cheaper Robo-Dragon Knight and try and sell it for 2000 USD. That's an easy profit as long as you can find someone willing to buy it. This is an expensive method with no guarantee, so sometimes it's easier to try out the other options!
Bonus tip: Buy it on Monster Market for some DEC rebates
Option 2: Discord/ Person to Person Transaction
Likewise, look for people willing to sell to you for discounts. Some are willing to give 10-15% discounts if you buy in bulk. Beware of Scammers.

Option 3: Bid on Peakmonsters.com
You'd be surprised how some people are looking for the quick sell. Sometimes you have bids that are around 20% below Market Price but it gets sold to you automatically. Some times people make mistakes in renting and they accidentally sell their cards. It becomes an expensive lesson for them, but an awesome windfall for you. This works if you're the best bid.

Let's try for Pelacor Bandit

The highest bid is currently 0.168 USD. So if I want it, I should place a bid for the price I'm willing to pay for and hope for the best. I can also be the highest bid to be a top priority for all those cheap deals.

The total BCX is how many cards you want, while the highest level BCX is the max combined cards that you're willing to buy.

Tip 2: Buy and Sell with the DEC Trend

As the value of DEC goes higher, you can buy cards for the same USD price. This way when the DEC starts crashing or dipping (and the card price remains the same amount of USD), you'll notice the DEC amount you have is higher than you initially had.

Tip 3: Find Undervalued Cards

Use your game knowledge to your advantage. If you understand the game enough, you'll know which cards are undervalued and you can start hoarding as much as you can so by the time the community realizes this, you'll be ready to sell at a profit.
Bonus Tip: Keep an eye out for card print values. Cards that are out of print tend to increase in value.

Got something to add? Comment below! In any case, Best of Luck and may you find the best deals!

Your article was informative. I used to purchase cards on the bidding market at Peakmonster.
I try to find high potential cards undervalued and level up the monsters then hold the cards as long as its price 50x. The exchange for interesting cards occasionally occurs or I sell it for DEC.
Thanks for sharing.
